D23 Epcot Forever Poster Series

I decided to start flattening my Living Seas poster finally. Mainly because it's the oldest one and will take the longest. So for people that only have the original ones and are curious about the size jump from 27x18 to 36x24 and can't picture it like me....

And for comparison against the Cedar Point posters:

If you couldn't realize how massive they are, you do now. The $100 price doesn't look so bad now does it? I'll do a comparison with the new Soarin' vs the 2020 version when that arrives (hopefully shipping within 3ish weeks). And hopefully my portfolio will be here by then. There's an insane number tubes and I need to get rid of them.

Going off of what I found in SD, looks like we'll be seeing World Discovery next. They buried things a bit more this year but still not good enough for someone that has way too much time on their hands (still manually digging through things, no bot).
This is really useful to see, thank you. I'd told myself I didn't need the 24x36 versions, but The Land and Living Seas in that size are going be so hard to resist.

If the Land and LS aren't enough to make people jump on the 24x36 versions, I'll be surprised. It's only going to get harder from there.

Alrighty then, images have been loaded into ShopDisney.

And WDI added a nice representation of the metallic effect:

But more importantly, they went through and did angles of a few areas:

This is how it should've been done from the very beginning.

I have to admit, it is very well done and appealing to look at judging by these images of course.

The Land:

Plus the effect:

And a few of the pictures of specific areas:

They are really great looking pieces. From what I understand, Moana was kind of a first step while Soarin' was an improvement. The Land and Living Seas should be a bit above those two. So if people liked Moana, they're really going to like Soarin', and they'll love these two.

These two should be total hits.

I agree, big fan of how the colors pop. The metallic touches seem more pronounced here which adds to the look of the art.

Pulled the trigger on Living Seas this morning....looks great. Got the SHIPMAGIC, but D23MAGIC didn’t work. I guess I’m batting .500 in terms of magic.

Interestingly, just saw one of the numbered Living Seas prints from the first run go for $800 on eBay.

I guess the first run is still going to be valuable to collectors. I have a nice set from the original run, but alas, no Living Seas for me there. I'll be getting this new version, for sure. Not so sure on the Land. I have the LE of it, and this new version is great, but not sure I need a second copy... though the additions here really look fantastic.

As for $800 for a Living Seas LE? I guess I can see the justification for it. There are only 100 of those. Definitely still have some value long-run for a collector. Not something I could see myself doing, especially with these beautiful reissues, but... I guess I get it.

I’ll admit I really like the Living Seas one. As a lot of people know I am personally after the lithos primarily.

Right now, if Discovery really is the next neighborhood I am looking at picking up three of those specific prints. Those being Test Track, Guardians, and Mission Space. This will join my already acquired Soarin’ print.

As you can see, I only have currently available attractions right now represented as well as a future. These prints can get rather pricey so in an attempt to hold myself back a little bit I as of now am going for current attractions with the exception of Guardians.

As the blog post says, and World Showcase is the next neighborhood after Discovery I expect to largely sit that one out and not buy any prints. With the exception of maybe Rat, not sure on that.

Whenever World Celebration rolls around I fully intend on grabbing Spaceship Earth and Imagination.

EDIT: Just priced it out, Discovery is looking like a very hefty order. Probably sitting Living Seas out.

That. The first run is unique. It's numbered, smaller, and is plainer looking (not a downside). People will still chase the numbered ones around even if they are slightly less rare because of this run. Especially if they want everything as a serigraph then it's the only way to get that.

Not sure if I should just grab a living seas one just to have the print. Right now though, Discovery is looking like a decently sized order so I may not.
At this point, I feel safe confirming it's World Discovery now that links are in ShopDisney. No links=I can't speak to it. If there's something you want as a serigraph in these waves, there's no harm in waiting till after the last round of serigraphs go live to make sure you don't double up. But if you do, then it's a great gift for a Disney fan.

I'll wait till Disney announces the first serigraph though or at least till images are loaded.

Fun fact: If you're in the US then your $1400 stimulus would cover all posters being released! 🤣

Definitely, happy this is the case. Discovery was a top priority. Don’t think I will be grabbing serigraphs in the Discovery wave of neighborhoods. If anything, the one I MAY pull the trigger on is Celebration namely Spaceship Earth to tie the whole display together. Imagination is of course, a very high priority as well.

That reminds me, to your knowledge are we expecting Spaceship Earth to be released this time around? Would love to own that print. Even if it is a litho.

Just when I thought I was out they pull me right back in.

I’m going to be getting the ones I missed out on for myself and as early Christmas shopping for someone else staring with The Living Seas here.

I have to admit, The Living Seas is definitely enticing. I have made the final decision I think to sit it out though. I rather go for the ones that I really want.

I am really happy for those who were looking for Living Seas to be getting them!

I’m going for a whole set of classsic FW pavilions. Although, for some reason M:S mimics that style of classic FW pavilions the most so it is tempting.

It's almost 18 years old at this point (shocking it's been that long). That's classic enough for a lot of people out there. But I agree, its' poster is great looking.

I wish Guardians had a reworked Energy building at the bottom.

That should be a very nice collection once it is all said in done. The thing about myself and MS is since I have no connection to Horizons, and therefore cannot judge it. I don’t really mind Mission Space as an attraction. Sure, their are way better attractions out there but I admire it.

Mission Space’s poster though is incredible. The design is so simple yet it invokes the ride so much and shows off the building in a very nice retro feel. Definitely excited to pick that one up.

Guardians would of looked nice with an Energy building, I have to say though that poster also offers a very strong design. I really like the style that reminds me of the people on the bottom of the Mission Space poster. Also, I am a huge Marvel fan so that definitely helps. The ride is definitely exciting, everyone could make the case of where it’s placed to be strange but the ride experience looks great from what we have heard.

If Mission Space wasn't built on Horizons location, I know I'd have less grief with it. Nothing wrong with Mission Space, it's just a weak substitute for what we lost at that location. I know, as a kid, I'd have loved M:S. Really can't, and shouldn't, speak ill of it, but yeah... It sits on the shoulders of a lost giant, so, it's always going to have that problem for a lot of us.
