According to the Disney blog they will be offering a service similar to the Carbon Freeze figure for a limited time starting on August 26th. You can reserve reservations for this experience right now and it is limited to guests from the ages of 3 -12. The experience will take place at World of Disney in Downtown Disney and the figures will cost the same amount as the Carbon Freeze ones did. Here is the link to the Disney blog announcement for it. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...-walt-disney-world-resort-for-a-limited-time/

Yes, I saw that earlier today and my first thought was that those figures do look rather creepy - and also ugly. I am not sure that they can really translate the girl's features that well. Those dolls all have rather ugly faces and I am sure they did not choose ugly models to start with for their marketing pictures.

Also the discrepancy between a child's face and an adult looking body is rather disturbing...

Great concept for using the technology in another way... kind of creepy implementation of it. That said however, I gaurantee people with little girls who love the princesses will be all over it! :)

Don't get me wrong... I can totally see the appeal and if it were your own daughter on one you'd probably be able to look past the creepy factor... probably... o_O

Agreed on the creepy front, but surprised they have put an age limit on it. Can't adults want to transplant their face onto a princess body too? Also, will they be allowing boys to take part?

I guess they want to make sure that it is still a child's face they put on the doll to keep it further away from a real princess figurine.

This is the stuff nightmares are made of. Extremely lifelike toys? Would have scared the poop out of me as a child.

I don't think those are being sold as toys - they are designed to go on the mantle piece next to the picture frames. That's why there is the offer of getting multiple ones, so that the grandparents can get one for christmas as well.

I'm inherently predisposed to run screaming from anything like this.....but I don't think they're that bad at all.

Although remember: if the figurine comes to life and tries to murder you and after an extended life and death struggle you finally manage to burn it in the oven THE SPIRIT IS STILL ACTIVE AND WILL POSSESS YOU IF YOU OPEN THE OVEN DOOR.

Just a little tip I learned from "The Trilogy of Terror". Don't open the oven door.

Ok, so I was quite excited about this when I started reading the blog post. I thought omg DD3 will love this . . . and then I saw how creepy/scary the figures look! If i'm paying that much for a figure it needs to not creep me out.
