The Carbon Freeze Me figures were the same if I remember right. I think after tax and shipping they were around $125.

That part of the Snow Queen story about the Devil's mirror is just an introduction... it sets up what happens to Kai, and then Gerda's long journey to free Kai from the Snow Queen.

That surprises the hell out of me.

I spent 16 years attending Catholic schools and never saw anything like this. In fact, I had an openly gay theology professor at the university level.

I'm sorry both of you had such poor experiences.

Glad to know that you had a relatively nice experience, and that not all schools are like what I had to go through when I was a youngin'. As they say, Hakuna Matata. ;)

You know that Disney is a publicly-traded corporation with stockholders, right? Saying it's "all about the $$$$" is just ridiculous. Do you spend all day saying this to every business you pass or see advertising on TV?

Disney offers a wide range of products. As a consumer, you can choose to buy or not buy whatever you want. I like that these little figurines are being offered though I have no intention of ever buying one. I also like looking through the SkyMall, Brookstone, and Hammecher Schlemmer catalogs and marveling at all the high-end gadgets and gizmos they have a plenty. I've never ordered any of them because I'd rather spend my extra money on vacations, not trinkets and nicknacks.

But none of the things offered for sale that I have no intention of buying ever make me angry they are being sold.

Relax Patricia! I am well aware of the Disney company and shareholders, but thanks for trying to give me a lesson. Did I say I was angry with Disney offering this?? Let me help you.. the answer is NO!. They are free to sell whatever they want, charge whatever they want for tickets and such. My comment was more to the fact that they know many parents of little susie princesses will pay whatever price for a doll with susie's little face on it. Hey just another option to suck the cash out of guest's wallets... and great marketing no doubt! And to that I was just stating the fact and saying it was all about the $$$$$! (Sorry I said it again) Only problem is, I think if they were smarter and could somehow sell if for half that crazy pricetag, they would appeal to an even larger market and probably make more $$$$$ in the end.

I know the figurines look weird to some people but thats just because you're so used to the same type of doll/barbie face on all dolls. I do see the appeal here. Im sure many little girls would love to have a figurine made of themselves. Yes the price is hefty but so was the carbon freeze me also. I personally think a doll to play with would have been better than a figurine that can easily break. How are you going to get that for a little girl and expect her not to want to play with it like a toy? I also agree as the other OP said that there should have been a little more ethnic variety to include Mulan and Pocahontas. Another OP mentioned if boys would be allowed- the rules only stated age so I'm sure a boy would be. I dont think Disney wants any controversy or the LGBT protesting them on the news.
