Trip Report Cycling through Celebration, a cream cheese covered remote and the Closed Wallet Rebellion of 2016.

So last week we spent seven nights in a one-bedroom at Saratoga Springs Resort in the Congress Park section. We like Congress Park and have stayed in that section before. The walk over to Disney Springs is fun and since the new section just opened with several new shops and restaurants, we walked over several times during the week.
I think the first evening there is when I declared the wallet closed and decided to try to save a dollar or two this trip. What started it was sticker shock at some of the prices I was seeing.
But let's start at the beginning and I'll go into more detail later.
We got an early start and arrived to WDW via the 535 entrance to Hotel Plaza Blvd.:

Since the Closed Wallet Rebellion of 2016 was still in full force, I just took some photos of things I might have bought had I not been protesting with my wallet. Now, I know in the long run it won't make any difference, but I did save a few bucks and in my own little way decided I was not going to allow myself to overspend.

OK, I have probably bored you to tears by now. I'll stop for now and will resume with some more bike rides to the Treehouses, OKW and over to Fort Wilderness later. Going out of town for a few days and will catch up later if you are still with me. Thanks for following along.
Headed to the Smokies to see the synchronous fireflies. Should be fun.

Oh, @Tiggerish our first day over at Disney Springs, there were several cast members helping people find their way around. While looking at a directory map, we met a young lady named Siobhan. We spoke with her for awhile and I asked her about her name and being the clueless country boy I am, asked "Is that French," to which she laughed and said "No, Irish. Can't you tell?"
I did not know.

LOL, lots of people don't know it's an Irish name. Believe it or not, I've had a couple of people tell me they were expecting to meet an Indian man based on the spelling of my name.

Almost everyone knows a Sean (Shaun, Shawn) which is Irish for John. Siobhan is the feminine of the same name, or Joan in English.

Always wanted to do that but never did. My wife looked in to some cooking classes there but we just never got around to doing it for some reason...oh, I remember. At that time we were always too busy at the parks, trying to do as much as possible, ride as many rides as we could, see as many shows, wear out shoes and get multiple blisters and sunburn.

Oh, how ironic!! :joyfull:

That was certainly some unorthodox use of cream cheese!! And a funny story.

Lovely photos from Disney Springs. Agreed on the activities--$125 is a boatload of money to spend on that ride. Maybe if you're 4 people, but it's hard to justify when you're only 2.

So, that is all I have time for right now. Back at the room, here is the fresh salsa and guacamole served with a rotisserie chicken/bagel sandwich. This was very good and sadly, for some reason, did not last long. Must have been it was just a small container...yeah, that's it. The Farmer's Market at Celebration is on Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. till 2 or 3 p.m. and I am guessing they probably have seasonal hours that change, but don't really know for sure.

As I mentioned a few pages back, perhaps Earls and Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace have gone down slightly. I think the pictures of your food above look a lot tastier that either Earls or Puck's--maybe people should go to Celebration from now on for better food instead!

Now and then?? Your photos are absolutely wonderful. And of course I will come back to your report. Thanks again fro posting all this wonderful-ness. :) Loving it. :)
What he said. My pics are mostly just getting my boys to stand together without making too many silly faces or giving me dirty looks for having to get their pictures taken.
