Current state of Body Wars?

I remember when Body Wars first opened. They let down the ropes and we all ran to the ride. Too bad it was completely lame :(

just my opinion

I remember it too. I went on it, threw up, and never rode on it again. Ever. Even though the ride is shuttered I still have "throw-up" sensations when I enter the Festival Center. Seriously, I dunno why!!

The closing of TT will be no problem! There are so many great thrilling experiences all over EPCOT!

Such as watching 'Jeopardy 1996', 'No-magination with Figment' and 'Mission: Vominator'. Plus all the great rides they've build in the past 25 years in World Showcase!

Ha ha, yea, Jeopardy 96 and Zack Morris cell phone totin' Ellen, ha ha ha!! That area of FW disgusts me so much, and saddens me too. Just close that side and put in a whole bunch of screens a la SSE ending.

It disgusts you that much, huh> Just don't go there then. Ellen's World of Energy ride has huge ridership still....

As to why they haven't put anything in the WoW is that Epcot/Disney DO NOT fund anything at Epcot -- if you know of a corporation that would like to develop it and create an attraction there, fund the hundreds of millions needed to do so, and donate the tens of millions per year to keep it operational, then please let Disney know -- I am sure they would LOVE to have something in there and put their imagineers to work. In fact, I am sure they already have a dozen sketches for ideas for that building. Nothing will get built until that sponsor steps forward, In this financial climate, its not going to happen anytime soon.

Actually this is not true: "Soarin', The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Imagination, and several other areas in Epcot are all funded by Disney."

They are CURRENTLY funded by Disney, their development was all privately funded until corporations started to drop out after their commitment periods were ended.

The Imagination Pavilion used to be funded by Kodak until they pulled out after their 9 year committment (They stayed longer than that): The Land Pavilion including Soarin and all other attractions therein was funded and developed by Kraft and then by Nestles (through 2009) and they are very very busy trying to find a new sponsor for Soarin'....at one time the new movie (Soarin' over America) was said to have been sponsored by Northwest Airlines, until they got usurped by Delta and that project was squashed.

The Seas With Nemo and Friends technology and layout was originally designed while United Technologies was still involved with funding, then shelved, then redeveloped pending a sponsor when the older parts of the building needed to be redesigned as they were rotting away...That attraction currently has a handful of "mini sponsors" and their names and logos are visible throughout the pavilion.

But why should I care about that? All that matters is that I am the one who funds my entrance ticket.

By this logic, if I can show that the company I work for refuses to fund my Disney vacation, Disney ought to simply let me in for free? I think not, eh?

It is my responsibility to deliver my end of the bargain, and Disney's responsibility to deliver theirs: I pay money, Disney provides me a functioning theme park. How they fund that is no more of my concern than it is Disney's how I fund my part of the deal.

I saw a picture online of what is said to be the show room empty, but there is no confirmation. Does anyone know the current state in 2013? Of Body Wars & Cranium Command?

Pretty much the same as it was a couple of years ago. Those torn out parts didn't grow back. They didn't work back then and they don't work now. They are history, like so many things in Disney. That in and of itself doesn't particularly bother me. What bothers me is that they make no effort to fill those pavilions, either with other sponsors or Disney themselves. After all, it is a Disney Park, shouldn't they keep it operational?

At this point, even if they decided to put something useful in that building, it will not be Body Wars or Cranium Command. We can only hope that at some point in the future, they will gather up all the drawings, building plans and schematics from all the thrown out attractions and build a 5th gate with just those in it. I would spend most of my time in there. They can call it "Disney's Once Upon-A-Time of Greatness" Park. DOUG for short.

I went on the Undiscovered Future World tour about two months ago, and I'm pretty sure the tour guide said the parts from Body Wars are used for Star Tours as needed. I could be making this up from stuff I've read around the Internet, but I think that's what he said.

He also mentioned something about the pavilion, but unfortunately I completely forget what it was. I think it might be used for conventions of some sort, but I forget. I know it's not completely abandoned, though.

Both your statements are true. They did use parts from it and they do use the pavilion for Flower and Garden Festival as well as the Eat to much junk, drink to much alcohol then be obnoxious and throw up extravaganza. Seems like a bad choice for a place that once tried to push health. Live is nothing without irony.

has anyone ever heard of plans for this building?
Nope! They did recently obtain a building permit for it, but the common speculation is to just finally take out the stuff from Body Wars and Cranium. It would be nice if they did something but I'm not holding my breath.
