Curious About Epcot Pavilions

Does anyone know if the pavilions in Epcot are used for something besides the attractions? The Canada pavilion looks pretty big and is several floors tall. It could be used for office space, storage, etc... I know the castle at MK was built with the idea of an apartment for Walt and family. Just curious if any other buildings serve a dual purpose.

The buildings on the second level at Canada are mostly backstage areas and always have been. The large building on the right once contained a shop (La Boutique des Provinces), but I think that's been gone for quite a while.

How was it? I never visited that shop, and I know Canada needs something more...

And to answer the question, I always was under the impression that they were just there. No offices, but just there. And backstage.

IIRC, La Boutique des Provinces featured ceramics, glassware, art work etc. A more upscale collection of merchandise.

That one had a store that I wish they would reopen.

Others have ride spaces that I wish they would use.:lookaroun:lol:

I was looking at one of Martin's diagrams today of the Germany pavillion, there is a ton of space there! Until I started visiting this site I never knew that it was supposed to have a boat ride. Too bad they never built it. :(

Well, it was either that in 1983/4 or El Rio in 1982.:o

They needed something to hold down the capacity issues.

That lady isn't picking her nose, is she?

that's funny because the first thing I noticed is that she's wearing the wrong costume for the store...must have been covering a break, and that it must be winter because she's got a turtleneck under her lumberjack shirt.....THEN I realized that she may be picking her nose (though I'm also voting for scratch rather than pick)

Break rooms, mechanical and electrical, attraction support and the like.
Of course. :)

But break rooms? It would be nice if some had window views above tourists, like the rooms above France.

I.E. The stairway near the exit of Boulangerie Paitisserie or the stairway once cluttered with toys in the Der Teddybar shop in Germany.

It's not used as a break room but often as an informal meeting rooms for various groups within the pavilion such as the Hurricane Task Force, the Guest Satisfaction Measurement team etc. The break room is a trailer out back.

George to Jerry, "Was there any nasal penetration". I stand by my quote (okay, maybe a paraphrase but in the same context of what was on the show) And since there wasn't any pick (what the heck are you puking about?
