CSR with DD4

So I switched from CBR to CSR for our July trip after getting a free Dining Pin. They had no standard rooms at CBR so had to switch to CSR to save the $$. I'm cool with it. DW is a bit skeptical because she's reading reviews that say it's not super kid-friendly. True or not? We'll be spending plenty time in the parks obviously, and the pool looks themed well. Just wondering if its worth calling every day to see if we can switch back.

Thoughts on CSR appreciated also. Need some reassurance for the wifey.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Indy

I've been taking my DD there since she was 4 and she loves it. We are going in June and she will be turning 18 and still loves it. The main pool area is terrific with the longest slide of the mods, a playground, WDW's largest hot tub, the arcade and more. There is a pool opening ceremony that you child will love as well.

If you want Mickey and characters all over the place, then no it is not a "kid-friendly" place...BUT my family stayed there 2 years ago with my then 4 year old son and we LOVED it! It didn't matter that there weren't pix of characters everywhere because the pool was amazing, bus service was wonderful, grounds were beautiful and we even were upgrade to a waterfront room for free without asking! I think that you are in Disney and it doesn't matter if your room has a thousand reminders.....you are there and you know it. It was my favorite mod resort by far. The rooms were newly remodeled too..comfy, clean and just enough for relaxing in between activities...ENJOY...Just make sure to research what location of room you prefer because it is a large resort.

Great site. Lots of info.

And thanks for all the other input. Starting to look forward to our CSR visit after a skeptical start.

Staying at CSR the end of May. This will be our 4th time there. This is one of our favorite resorts. We love it there. People will complain because it is big, and it is. You may have to walk a little longer depending on where your room is. That doesn't bother us. It gives us more time to enjoy the scenery. But the place is beautiful. The pool is very large. The play area for the kids is fine. We tend to gravitate toward the quit pools. The rooms were renovated just a couple of years ago. I think you'll enjoy it.

I would't say one is more kid friendly than the other, both pool areas are great and CSR has a better play area for little ones. We stayed at CBR with our 5 and 9 yr old daughters and they both loved it. We're staying at CSR this October and I cant wait.

I love CSR. It is my fav mod and we will be staying there this summer, as well. (I have 3 children--7, 2 and will be 5 months when traveling) As mentioned, I would 't say that any of the mods are really geared towards children but they all have something for them. CSR has an amazing pool with a really cool slide. The pool is large so you won't feel like you are tripping on anyone, either. The playground is nice and the theming is fun. The marina has some great wwter sports to try or even just watch. I don't think you will be disdappointed.

When we took our DD for her first trip she was 3 1/2 and LOVED CSR, last year we stayed at POR because with a promo that CSR wasn't available during our travel dates. DD who is now 5, still asks if next trip we can go back to our "first Disney Home" She missed CSR when we were at POR. Luckily for her the trip we have planned for Sept/Oct (which is a surprise trip for her) we will be staying at CSR again, only this time with her (6yrs at travel time) and her new brother (1yr at travel time). I absolutely love this resort, let your wife know that DH had picked it out on our first trip and was not thrilled with the decision (it was my last pick but he really had his heart set on it) but after arriving there I immediately fell in love with the place! We won't stay at any other Mod Resort again!!
