I couldn't find my other thread on the rehabbed rooms at CSR so I started a new one (sorry). Here are a few more pictures of the new standard rooms at CSR (these are not the Club Rooms):

Room location

I'm going to be at CSR first week in April. What buildings/rooms are the new rooms in? And are they close enough to all the "action" to be worth a request? (I have a water view room). Rooms look VERY nice btw!

As of now, Cabanas 9B is done--but that is Club Level only. Casitas 1, 4th floor, is complete (Casitas 1 is right next to the main building--food, registration, shops, etc.); Casitas 2 and 3, 4th floor and Cabanas 9A are currently being worked on. All rehab is to be done by October 2009 (they started October 2008).

I can't tell from the pics, but are those still the same double beds from before? Or were they upgraded to Queen beds which had been rumored?

I love the modern approach to the design. I give the refurbishment a 6.5/7.0

I created a post about this in the “General Discussion” section http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=385992, and it was suggested to me that I check this thread for an answer.

I was curious as to if the casing-style things above the beds, house fluorescent tubes? I absolutely hate fluorescent lighting. I hope this isn’t the case.

Rob, all rooms are now two "queen" beds except for around 100 rooms that are being changed to king beds from the twin beds.

I just got back from CSR last week and was lucky enough (with the help of a great manager) to spend the second half of my stay in a remodeled Cabana room (in 9B I believe) and they are great!

The first half of my trip was in a Casita room that looked (and smelled) like it belonged in an old Motel 6:hurl:. The Cabana room had beautiful new furniture, bedding and electronics that made the room look ready for a decorating/design magazine photoshoot.

I will absolutely be staying at CSR on my next trip if I can get a remodeled room again!

Depending on when you are going again, all of the rooms will be remodeled by October 2009. Cabana 9B was done first as they will, as of January 1, be Club Level rooms only. They have completed Casitas 1 on the 4th floor and are currently working on the 4th floor of Casitas 2 and 3 and Cabanas 9B. They will all have the new furniture, new televisions, carpet, walls, bathroom doors, etc.
