We love the Crystal Palace for breakfast. Has always been excellent in several visits. I'm really surprised that kasey1988 only saw one character in an hour?!?!?! We've always had them come by at least twice in an hour.

It's a breakfast buffet so nothing Earth Shattering on the menu. That said, I've been before & I'll go again. DW likes it - and while my favorite character is Mexican Donald, Tigger comes in a close 2nd

Just eeyore! We each had a few trips to the buffet and then were served cupcakes because it was our honeymoon, and had time to eat all that and then continued to wait, when we were leaving pooh was about 7 tables away, and the others were further. By this time it was over an hour, the park was now open and we didn't feel a need to wait. I was very surprised since at tusker house and ohana we have never had this issue.

Sorry that didn't work out. I'm surprised as well.

The character interaction is awesome but I was not impressed with the dinner buffet. I agree, it is a lovely restaurant from the outside.

:):)Every trip we have to get breakfast there at least once, even just to get great empty park pics while waiting makes it worth its while. We have been 4 times never had any issues all CM'S have helped and assisted where they can. Always makes me smile that they have proper napkins there and I know people (myself included) would take some extras for later in the park. God I love Crystal palace

We've discussed before, but after trying ever single character meal on property- I think Crystal Palace now firmly sits at #1 for us. Yes, I know- I like the 1900 PF food and adore CRT for the castle, but several things occurred to me to make this the clear winner...
1. we've never had bad service at CP - in fact, it's always been rave worthy
2. we've never had bad breakfast food at CP - the breakfast lasagna RULES!
3. pre-park opening MK meal is the best and CP is the cheaper option (vs CRT)
4. I can get out of there in under an hour and not feel rushed
5. the characters always seem to be really good- all of them
6. very best chefs we've dealt with for allergies and food issues

OK- well, you get the idea.

I've been once, for dinner I believe, buffet style? (I'm certain it wasn't breakfast, and if it wasn't a buffet then I don't remember what I got...)

Characters come around quite a bit and one time Piglet led a group of kids around the restaurant in a conga-esque line (you're damn right I joined it. a 23 year old).
Got pictures with Tigger. Other than that nothing too spectacular if you ask me. Food was good. I haven't been for breakfast, but my assumption is it's very similar to the rest of the breakfast buffets. We had went to Chef Mickey's one morning, it was good with the characters. Buffet style food was good. Went to Tusker House for breakfast the next morning to find a very similar breakfast menu buffet, with some exceptions. (They do a bug juice there in the morning that's pretty good [though I'm a coffee drinker..] and they have some more "ethnic" takes on a hash and some other foods, but mainly the same variety).

Same here. We were not even there quite an hour and we were halfway through round 2 of the characters.

crystal palace is my favorite place ever. dh and i made an agreement to try a lot of new places on our next trip - we're still going to crystal palace. getting an early reservation is amazing - seeing the park that empty... so neat. we did this a couple of years ago: had an 8:05am ADR (9am park opening) and main street was empty... the perfect time for my brother to propose to his fiancee! we have AMAZING photos of them in front of the castle thanks to a cooperative photopass cm. and a simple call ahead to crystal palace ensured a decorated table and a card!

pooh's puffed french toast... omg. i think it's deep fried and then covered - COVERED - in cinnamon sugar. without being too graphic, i love it enough that i'd roll around in it naked. the other food is good too. there's an omelet bar, and some kind of potato thing... and pastries... i think. i just keep eating the puffed french toast.

character interaction has always been very good for us. we don't have kids so it's always just us grown ups. more than once my dh has been accosted by tigger to join the parade. i don't know why tigger seems to think he needs a 6'2", heavily tattooed and bearded man to join the parade, but he does.

We first ate at CP years ago when our DS was young and a fan of Winnie and the gang. We still after all these years always manage to book both breakfast & dinner buffets at some point during our trips. Food selection is good and despite a slight decrease in quality, it still remains a favorite spot for us to dine. Characters have always made the rounds in a timely manner and given us plenty of time for photo shots. And the Pooh parades are noisy but fun to watch. The CM's have always been quick to refill glasses and clear plates as we go back for 2nds + 3rds. So it will keep holding a "must dine there" spot on our planning calendars.

Our first in park meal is always CP. Great character interaction and it has great curb appeal. The food is on par with Disney's other buffets. It's a nice air conditioned break and we always have our first park day at MK with this as our first TS meal. I saw you mentioned Tusker House. I really like it for brunch. You get traditional safe breakfast food that kids recognize with a sampling of some of the African themed dishes that they offer at lunch. Also good character interaction there.

The way I am thinking right now we will do CP for a before park breakfast (if the scheduling works in my favor) on one of our MK days. I plan on doing the same at Tusker House for our AK day. We always do AK bright an early so we may do a later time to get us out of the inevitable heat we will experience at AK.

We did CP for lunch in our last trip, and really enjoyed it. It proved to be a surprise hit for our DS, who was previously not too fussed on Pooh & his friends. Every time he saw a character, he squealed in delight, and ran towards them to give them a hug :) When it was time to leave, he had a massive crying meltdown and said he wanted to stay there 'forever' :inlove:

We've got an 8.05 ADR on our upcoming trip, and I'm even more excited for it now, after reading this thread!

It's one of our must do, not much because of the food but because walking down an empty Main Street is like one of those dreams you have where they opened MK just for you. I'm a little upset the place will be covered with construction walls the next time we're there but we still have an 8:00 reservation for the 18th.

Ive never been there for breakfast but from the sounds of it we are missing out! Everyone on here knows their stuff. I have been there for dinner and I can honestly say it is nothing special at all. Would never go back for dinner but I may just for breakfast now due to everyone's fantastic opinions.
