Crying at Disney!

I was just reading a post and came across this - "My 5 year old is going for her first time in less than 5 weeks. I know I will cry the first few days." (Hope you don't mind Bailey5697)

Has anyone cried because of the magic of Disney?

I have to say, my mum is a softie, the first time we went to DLP (Euro Disney at the time) she cried. My Dad had spent two or so years working on the project, when we entered the park, it was just so magical she cried. Our last trip to WDW she cried at SpectroMagic, and two weeks ago we went to see The Lion King in the west end (London), and she cried at The Circle of Life opening.

I just cry myself to sleep every night thinking that I can't afford a trip to WDW  Actually, a tear came has come to my eye at SpectroMagic.

Yeah, definitely. Any 'TRUE' disney fanatic has most certainly shed a tear at one time or another out of either pure happiness, or total overwhelming of the senses.

Not all-out  but I did mushy a few times.

When ds4 had a look of total amazement on his face at Illuminations. His mouth truly dropped open. It was a Kodak moment, he was sitting on dh's shoulders for the whole show, making all kinds of ooh'ing and aah'ing noises. It would be a great commercial.

When Peter Pan pointed directly at ds4 during the parade. He didn't notice at the time but I knew it was special and now he does too. :D

When dd3 got a Happy Bday phone call from Mickey and Goofy. OK I really felt like crying at this one because it was a big deal to her and I wasn't there to experience it- we were taking ds4 on the big rides at the time.

Pride at ds4's excitement, and watching the joy on his face as he first begged to ride, and then conquered, the big rides such as Splash Mtn, BTMR, Test Track and TOT.

Dd3's meeting with her favorite, Cinderella. I'm trying to attach a picture, I hope it works.

umm, I shed a few tears the first two times I went to WDW and had to leave. I was about 10 the first time I went and 13 the second time! Then I went last April with a bunch of friends and couldn't cry because number one, I was with friends and number two, I was 17

On the subject of crying...

If I'm in a sort-of sensitive mood, I only have to hear the last part of my "Fantasmic" CD and I blubber like a baby! It just takes me back to the best 25 minutes I have ever spent.

I also cry sometimes watching my Disneyworld videos as, once again, I am reminded of the happiest place on earth.

When Mum and me last went to Disneyworld, she cried there!! It was the day before we were returning home, and we were spending our final day at Magic Kingdom. I turned to her and said "Well, take a last look at Cinderella's Castle, as we won't be seeing it again for a long time". That was it!! She started to cry, not loudly, but, you know, silently. I always feel sad taking the Disney bus for the last time, as it drives away and Magic Kingdom leaves my sight :(

I can't say that Disney has caused me to cry, but I do know that on my last day and in the days and weeks that follow one of my Disney vacations, I suffer from PDD "post Disney depression" which moves me to write up all these various lists of detailed moments that remain clear in my mind from the great trip.

I lived there for 15 months and never got used to "the magic" I even created myself sometimes. I had tears in my eyes many times: during Fantasmic, Candlelight Processional, IllumiNations, the openning night of IllumiNations RoE, The Lion King show in Broadway, etc., and a knott in my throat many many times! :)

I always tear up everytime I see the castle. Small world and COP always makes me cry because I rode them with my dad at the NYC world fair.

Last March when my brother's kids got to go for the first time ever I cried, at the parade when the characters got their hands and at the character breakfast.

I just get so excited....I cry.
