Cruise Line Question

So, we've booked the cruise (4 day) for next September. We're discussing making reservations at Palo (when the time comes, obviously), but was curious, is there a way to know (before boarding) what day you'll be doubled up at a restaurant? I'd rather absorb the day we'll be repeating somewhere, then miss a whole new experience. Will I be able to find out ahead of time, or should I just make my ressies and hope to change it if I don't like the configuration later?

Also, if I drop my kids in the Oceaneer's Club while we're at dinner, what sort of meal will they receive?

Unfortunately not. Have your "game plan" in place when you check in. As soon as you get your assignments, one of you go to make the Palo reservation. Also just after, go make your spa ressies....particularly if you want one on the beach at Castaway.

I don't believe they serve food at the various clubs. We would make Palo ressies for a little later and one of us would go with the kids to the assigned dinner location, then on to the club. Or you could just do burgers or pizza before club drop off.

This is based on three years ago however, I don't know if they have changed any of this protocol.

When you get your packet in the mail for booking excursions you can book Palo's then. On the 4 day you will repeat the first and last night in the same restaurant.

Check out the menu's here: (sorry I know this is a competitor’s site)

As far as the kids, they take then to Beach Blanket Buffet for supper.

There really isn't a way to know before you board. The restaurants will repeat on the 2nd and 3rd night. The 2nd night is the normal meal from the restaurant and the 3rd night is the "Pirates in the Caribbean" dinner.

There are two ways people will go about their Palo's reservation:
-They go ahead and book Palo's before they board and then work around their dining once they are onboard.
-They make Palo's reservations right away when they get onboard.

Dinner rotations and Palo's reservations can be handled right away when you board from 1:30-3:30 in Wavebands (the night club), Deck 3. Pietro is usally the Palo's resturant manager and does his best to get everyone in. He is truly amazing! I know when my parents sailed with me, they made reservations right away when they got onboard without a problem. It took them less than 15 minutes! I personally like to skip my Triton's night and go for Palo's, but alot of guests like missing Parrot Cay.

Also, did you know you can always do brunch at Palo on the sea day? It is supossed to be great. An you get the Palo meal, without missing any resturants.

As far as food goes in the OC/OL, they will eat dinner a separate area in Beach Blanket Buffet. They meal is kid friendly: chicken fingers, mac & cheese, and fries. Just beware of their dining time! It's usually around 6PM.

unfortunately, you cant choose what rest. you want on what day you want, you are assigned at rest. and a time. palo you have to wait until you board to make the reservations. i suggest you get there early because it fills up fast

I would say book the Palo meal before you go so there is no chance you will miss! Its a must!

I remember when we went as you get on board you can go somewhere (cant remember where) and try and change your allocated reservation so you dont have to go to the same place twice.

Cant guarantee they will change but they always try pretty hard to accomodate.

Enjoy, Im sure you will love Palo!
