Does Disney offer on the boats anything like the bounce backs they offer in the resorts?? If so are they normally good deals or should I just book on my own when we return home? We will be taking for first cruise on the Dream (3 night) in August and I am really thinking about booking the Alaska trip for the summer of 2012 as DD graduation trip. Also, if they do offer and if they are a good deal can it be booked with a TA or do I have to do it?? Thanks  for any advise anyone has!!

Definitely book onboard! Currently they are offering half price deposits, a large onboard credit for your next cruise, and 10% off the cruise fare. It's the best standard deal going.

You can name a TA when you book it. I just did it two weeks ago. It's super easy!:)

And I should say, you don't have to wait. You can book it now and then rebook it onboard. You'll still get all the benefits of booking onboard.

That way you also insure the best price in case the prices go up between now and then. They'll give you 10% off the price at the time of rebooking and you can compare prices to see which is better.

We've done that before too.

Price and weather wise what is the best month to go to Alaska June July or early August???

Price wise, those are all months that schools are out, so the prices will be pretty similiar with June having a slight edge.

Weather wise, July and August will be a little warmer, but the chance for rain goes up too.

Thanks so much for the info and insight. I am going to start to research this if we like the Dream I will be ready to make some choices. See the kids dont know about the Dream (doing 7 days at the Boardwalk Inn then going on the Dream) so I cant talk about this in front of them. And i wnat to know they like...well we like cruising first before I book anything else. I may be touch.

That is awesome!! Makes it very easy to book while on board. I have to see how the DD do on the boat..worried the younest will be sea sick. and if that is the case it wont be a good option for HER graduation gift  that why we are starting with a 3 night just to test the waters!!
