For the week ending 6/27/21, a total of 1.03 Billion minutes of Cruella was watched. At 130 minutes runtime, that's 8 Million views of the movie since its debut on D+.
At $30 a pop, that's $238M income unshared with theaters for the first week on D+. Though, I've learned recently that platforms for D+ (like AppleTV) get 15% of the cut. So, that's $202M netted on D+.
Now, as has been discussed in Raya's thread, Disney films do tend to be rewatched... a lot. Moana and Frozen 2, e.g., keep showing up on the top ten movies streamed every week for the past four months. OTOH, Cruella is not a musical, which is often the hallmark of a most-watched movie.
So, depending on one's guesstimate of rewatches, if you take off a percentage, then Cruella's income on premium streaming is...
- 0% = $202M
-10% = $182M
-20% = $162M
-30% = $141M
-40% = $121M
-50% = $101M
Add to that: In theaters, the Box Office is $225M worldwide (as a rule of thumb, Disney would get half of that: $112M).
At a budget of $150M, it's clear that Cruella was a financial success for Disney.
On top of that, Cruella's CinemaScore was an A. And the general audience rating was good. The rating from critics was mixed to good.
