We will be at Disney in December and have ADR's at CRT for breakfast celebrating my daughters 18th birthday!

When I told my CM that my daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday there she started asking me for the birthday girls name and how old she would be?

I have read on some of these threads special things that have been done at some of the restraunts on birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

Is this something that we need to plan or does Disney do something special for the birthday person?

The reason they asked for her name is because they will give her a happy birthday certificate. They will probably also sprinkle confetti on your table, and dependning on the number of people in your party they might put you at a window seat. You can get a cake, but you must order it ahead of time and pay for it. You can pick up a happy birthday button at guest servieces that your daughter can wear during your trip. Mostly, she will be told Happy Birthday by lots of cast members. If she is lucky, she may get some special surprises from cast members (such as a fast pass), or extra attention from characters. It is always fun to have a birthday at WDW!

You may want to call WDW reservations & make sure that they know it will be her b-day for that particular reservation.
Also, when you arrive for the meal, remind them - they may be able to seat you at a table by the window at CRT.
You can order your daughter a b-day cake from WDW & have it delivered to the restaurant.
We did that last year at The Crystal Palace for my oldest DS's b-day.
