CRT at night

Hello all...

Well, after some discussion and penny-pinching, my GF and I decided to bite the bullet and spring for AKL for 10 nights over 5 nights in PO-FQ and 5 nights in CBR. Because we're passholders, the difference in price is only about $30 a night, but going for the Deluxe resort has made us rethink how we're going to spend money elsewhere. We're probably not going to rent a car (or if we do, we'll do it for a few days with the National/Alamo rent a center on site), and we're scaling back a bit on the meals, trying to get to the nicer/more elaborate ones that we want to try during lunch instead of dinner.

One exception to the rule might be-Cinderella's Royal Table. I was thinking about doing this during dinner because I thought, MAYBE, it might be more romantic, especially if we're there during the fireworks display.

Now I'm pig-ignorant about this. I don't KNOW if there will be fireworks the night(s) we're in the MK. I don't know if dinner is still being served during the fireworks. And if they are, I don't know if it's possible to have a view of them from inside the Castle. AAAAAND of course, I have no idea if we can get a priority seating.

So I defer to your experience: Is it worth trying to do it at night? Or am I better off, say, doing CRT at lunch, and going to Contemporary for the display from there (again, if we can get seated?)

As of the last time I made PS for Cinderella's Castle ( May 26th) the CM told me that there is NOT an area that you can see the fireworks from within the Castle. Do what I did. Make dinner PS about 2 hours prior to the time for the fireworks that night and enjoy!!!!!
Another option is to go to O'hanas which is certainly nice but may not have all the ambiance of the Castle, and watch the fireworks go off over the the MK from the Beach at the Polynesian. The music was low but it was pumped in.
As I love the Kingdom Feast, I say go for option one and enjoy the Castle and then wander out onto Main Street for Wishes!!! If you have one, dont forget to bring the video camera. I love this fireworks show!!!! Belle

I love CRT! However, I would not go at dinner, especially if you are on a budget. It's romantic (in a way), but I think it's equally romantic at lunch. (The crowds from breakfast are gone, and the dinner crowd hasn't arrived.) Also, lunch is way cheaper (you can have drinks, entrees and a dessert to share for less than what you could probably get two entrees for at dinner), and I think the selection is better.

Unfortunately, you can't watch the fireworks from the Contemporary observation deck unless you eat at California Grill. I presume that's out of the question, given budgetary constraints (if not, then go for it, but CG isn't very romantic either...lots of families).

However, here is my idea for romance on a budget: Go to the Polynesian, get a hammock, and watch the fireworks from the beach. It's very romantic and usually pretty secluded. Also, stop by the Main Street Bakery on the way out of MK, and pick up a few treats for dessert. What's better than fireworks, a beach, your signficant other and, of course, chocolate?

When we went in Dec 2000--we had dinner at CRT & it was quite romantic although pricey--but well worth it in my opinion. We got seated at a table right by the window & we definetly could see parts of the fireworks & it was magical to have the lights be dimmed & the music piped in & see some of the fireworks out the window of the castle.
This trip in Nov we are looking to do dinner at the California Grill one night to enjoy the fireworks from a different perspective there, but we will still go to CRT for dinner one night cause we love it.
Like the poly beach hammock idea...gonna try that one night ourselves to watch the Electrical Water Pageant.
Have a great time whatever you decide to do.
