Crowds at the MK? Where's Everybody?

Could this thread be titled 'they went to Anaheim'? ... How about 'they were all at EPCOT'?

I was at Disneyland, and while it wasn't light, I can't recall a wait time for anything ever exceeding 45 minutes (Carsland excluded). Crowds were worse when I was there for Presidents Day.

This is on July 3rd. With all the breathless expectations (OK, to be fair, I didn't read or hear any, but you know me -- or you think you do!), I'm just wondering are all the folks out with Mater or simply across town at Hogsmeade?
Even Disneyland didn't feel crowded this past weekend...even on July 4th the longest wait time I saw was 45 minutes. Maybe people just don't feel like going out this year? It did pick up as evening approached and I left, but for most of the day it was very manageable.

Anyone want to tell us they are there and they've never seen the MK so crowded, so therefore it must be one of the busiest days in history?
I opted for DLR this time instead of WDW whoch I was planning on visiting, but I decided I didn't want to pay $130/night for a Disney value resort. Despite the obscene price of airfare, my DLR trip was cheaper.

Of course they will not add any major new add to the MK while the crowds skew so heavily towards this park. Duh. You do not need to be a genius to understand this. Any E-Ticket caliber adds will go the other three parks until things equalize more starting with Avatar. This will make the MK a more pleasent experience in the long run.

The tunnel vision around here never ceases to amaze though.
Let me get this straight JT. They won't add a major attraction to the most visted Disney Park in the World, because it's to cowded. Is that what you're saying?

truth is that MK has more rides and attractions than the other 3 parks... I'd rather see new attractions at AK or DHS first.
They could all use a little help. The fact is though, that the MK get's far more visitors than the other Parks. Also the MK has capacity issues, and it's been 20 years since the last major e-ticket.

Not precisely. What I am saying is that they want the crowds better distributed and the MK will not see another major add before the problem is addressed. I hope I am wrong and they announce WRE or Indy at the MK, I'm just not holding my breath. I think you will see Avatar open at DAK and some big changes at DHS before that happens. IMO.

Photos like that make remind me of our first trip July 4th week. That is why we wait until mid August now.
When was that taken? Because that can be very misleading. The crowd is facing the castle, which can mean they are there to see the fireworks. It doesn't mean they were in the park all day, and most probably were just there to the see the show. As I said above, I was at Disneyland on the 4th, and while not empty, the crowd was very manageable, with the longest waits only reaching 45 minutes. It did pick up around 5:30pm as I was leaving, because with nighttime came the 4th of July fireworks (which they had been showing, in FULL, since Sunday night).

I don't see how 74 gets away with breaking rules. Why does he feel entitled to post general conversation in news? Even if the crowds were low, that still doesn't make it news!!!

a) it's mad expensive to even get a hotel
b) Fantasyland Expansion. people are saving and waiting for the BatB and TLM areas to be finished and then everyone will go
c) weather is also an issue
d) why are we complaining? shorter lines means more fun, everyone knows that

My God.....look at all those noggins....HOLY CR*P.
We were at DHS Tuesday an didn't see the massive crowds a expected but this scene is what it looked like for the fireworks on Monday at MK. We stated at OKW on the 4th and it seems like a lot of the people at he resort also stayed as the pool was packed by 10am

We were in MK on Monday and yesterday and lines for BTMM midday were approaching two hours. Splash was down most of the morning yesterday and had 100 min wait at 430. We're usually in WDW for the 4th and we actually thought it was busier than years past. And more people (not cast members) seemed to be rude :(

You flat out will NOT see a real E-Ticket added to the MK until Iger, Rasulo and Staggs are gone ... period.

They see no reason to add one ... and so many 'fans' will back them up. Nope only with new management comes the chance for one ... this isn't DL.

Just like how you said Avatar Land wasn't happening? Everyone rejoice, MK is getting an e-ticket!

really? it's usually busy during the summer, especially on 4th of July... suspicious... and Splash Mountain is down for like 50% of every time everyone visits the park. either you come on an off day or an on day. it's a gamble with that attraction. and when it's a scorching hot day like in the summer, just try to avoid any indoor-ish/sitting attraction before nightfall. most of the times is just difficult to get through the lines. but the coasters except Splash and Space Mountain shouldn't have those long waits

and more rude guests? i didn't even think more was possible o_O it's like every time you go, poor white trash rudelings decide to go on every single ride you go on just to annoy the hellbunny out of you. it's exasperating, to quote one of the awesomest ducks in cartoon history.

With all except PAPs blocked out, I think you saw more typical crowds at DL on the 4th.

What did you think of the pyro show? A friend who was there didn't think very highly of it, which surprised me because he's a bit of a Disney-can-do-no-wrong type.

Oh, you are so cute. Trying to play hall monitor and all. Do you have one of those orange vests?

I'd say talking about crowds over the holidays during said holiday period is plenty newsworthy, but I guess I don't get the news business. Maybe those talking heads on FOX and CNBC and MSNBC really don't spin, but tell the real deal too ...;)
