Crowd Question...

Hey all. I'm heading to the world in 12 days and this will be our first May trip. Normally we visit in March or April during spring break or over Thanksgiving so we're used to high crowds. We wanted to pick a time of year that's not super crowded so we went with May based on recommendations. I'm looking at the crowd calendar on touringplans.com and the crowds seems heavier this year, ranging from 4-7 the week we are there (April 30-May 8th) as opposed to the same time last year when they ranged from 1-3 mostly. Does anyone know why the sudden jump in resort crowds this year? Is May beginning to become a more crowded time of year?

I think it is because Easter is later this year and some spring breaks are closer to the end of April.

I thought that might be it. I know here in Maine and the rest of the northeast, we are on break this week. Easter week is usually busy just by itself, I cant even imagine being there with school vacation mixed in!

Ok, nevermind. I just checked touringplans.com for you. There is a Cheerleading And Dance World Championship Apr 28-May 2nd.
That is probably the issue. I really do love that website. I suggest joining for your next trip. They have a ton of useful info.

I think you'll still find a very siginificant difference from when you normally go... I'm certain it will feel much less crowded.

I did join touringplans.com a few months ago and planned our days around my audition there and based on their recommendations but I must have missed the cheerleading thing. Thanks!! And we're used to 8-10 sized crowds so 4-6 should be a piece of cake! :sohappy:
