I've heard from friends who went to WDW that even at peak times this year, crowds are noticably less. Anyone have anything to say from your vacations this year? Is the economy starting to affect attendance?

Crowd Levels at WDW

Well my family and I drive down and now the gas is ridicules. We are still going in about a week, but the high gas prices may have other "drivers" pushed to where they can't afford to drive down to Disney if they live far away. They will have to take a vacation to somewhere closer.

I could not possibly imagine why it couldn't affect the attendance. Here in S. Florida, it is on the front page every day about how petroleum prices affect EVERYTHING in our lives. If people are not even going out to dinner, how could they afford most vacations? It is a truly sad state of affairs.
