You're going during spring break: be ready.

(At least from past experiences, which are multiple), trips during spring/summer are crowded, but I'm sure you'd get on fine if you planned your trip using EMH (providing you're staying on-site) and park hopping.

I went this year at the tail end of March into the beggining of April, and it was JAM PACKED.

I have never seen so many people in one place in my life. I didn't get to ride Space Mountain, which is usually a must for me because it was always a two hour plus wait.

Normally at that time of the year it is not so busy, but next year will be different. I have gone the last two years for my birthday which is on the 26th of April, but will not be going next year for my birthday. The reason I will not be going is because Easter falls on the 24th of April and since a lot of schools have their spring breaks the week before or the week after Easter the parks will be packed.

The week before and after Easter are some of the busiest weeks in the spring with the week before Easter being the worst. They usually have phased closings at the Magic Kingdom the week before Easter.

I purposly took pics of the crowds one year when we went in April...So I would not be tempted to do it again...We did A Disney cruise (which to be honest could not tell it was April Break) Then we went and spent 4 days at Disney, the crowds were insane..And yes I expected it to be crazy..But it was just plain nuts....Never ever again...Even my 8 year old said never again in April.....

so basically i will miss out on the MK if i go in April?

Of course not! We've been in March and April several times, even during Easter. Yes, it is crowded. But not as crazy as Christmas!

You've been in July and August, so you've seen the summer crowds. April can be about the same, or maybe slightly more. BUT, if you have a good touring plan, you can have a wonderful time. I'm sure you have a touring plan for July and August (go early/ avoid the heat/ come back in the evening). Well, planning in the spring is just as important.

The big advantage to going in April is the weather. It is just about perfect in Orlando in the spring, and you don't have to deal with the extreme heat and humidity of summer, or the daily thunderstorms. Also in April is the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot, which is simply beautiful. WELL worth the trip.

If April is when you can go to Disney World, then go in April. You'll have a wonderful time. Plan for heavy crowds, make a touring plan, and enjoy the most beautiful time of year in Florida!

It's been my observation that the crowds for the 2 weeks surrounding easter weekend are much much busier than the average summer crowds. Even Disney usually acknowledges this by extending park hours during those two weeks. The rub there is that they DO extend the park hours, and if you can tough it out all day long, you can actually get to ride many attractions if you're smart and leverage the FastPass system.

Still, if you're going to be there between april 17th and april 29th 2011... expect HEAVY crowds.

Damn, you must have an awesome family if they train you to get through the parks at the age of 3

You'll be fine, just take advantage of the normal things like using different entrances, EMH, etc...if you need any help, feel free to PM me or post here and I'm sure anyone would be willing to help.
