Credit Card Charge

Yesterday I booked an ADR which required a credit card number to hold it. Today, a very small charge has shown up on my credit card from CRO Admin Orlando - Lake Buena Vista. Are they just testing my card, as in they'll return the very small amount as soon as they see that my card is active? Or should I put a hold on my credit card?

It's likely a one dollar authorization attempt on your card, to make sure the card number is real and working. Since I see you are in Canada, it may show up as a different amount than $1 because of the exchange rate. While the authorization shows up on your credit card transactions, it's not really a charge, just a hold. It should fall off within a few days at most. You can always call your bank to confirm if you are concerned.

I've had these things show up before, but never from Walt Disney World.

Me niether- I booked a fantasmic package last week and had this same thing happened. The "hold" disappeared. I think they just have to test that it is a valid card in case they need to charge the cancellation/no show fee.

I'd call to confirm. I called and made ADR's yesterday and used a debit/credit card and was assured by the Dining Cast Member that no charge is run - it is held to make sure you come and if you don't cancel 48 hours before your ressie and you miss your ADR - then your card is run.

Hope this helps!

Just be careful on what ADR you choose. I did the Wishes Dessert Party, and it was not a hold on the card, I was charged the full amount up front and it posted today. :(

On the bright side, it'll be paid for when I get down there and eat sweets until I can't eat anymore. My son has suggested bringing ziplock gallon bags for late night room stock up.... :lookaroun

Some special events, such as Wishes Dessert Party, are charged in full up front, because they don't have the credit card processing on site at the event itself. (The booking agent should make this overtly clear to you that you'll be charged immediately, but it doesn't always happen). Others like Cinderella's Royal Table, require a credit card to be "held," but don't involve a full charge up front. I'd figure it's probably the temporary hold mentioned above.

Hello, I am Geraldine Deceno and I am an ICP in Disney. Yesterday I went to Bierdarten Restaurant in Epcot, when I returned to my home I saw the charge from the dinner and "WDW_SE Lake Buena Vista" charge for $40 in my debit card. I want to know what kind of charge it is and if I will get that money back or not. Thanks so much

It will come off. Not everybody sees these temporary authorizations because all financial institutions handle them differently. Technically, it's your bank temporarily holding the $1, not Disney. You should see the hold removed in a couple days.
