Craziest places to get stuck?

Disclaimer: I don't want to scare people with this thread. Breakdowns that we are about to discuss are extremely rare, and Disney DOES have a plan for when they happen. I'm intrigued by the technology in these rides and I'd love to hear your backstage stories and how long it took CM's to evacuate people.

Where are some of the most unique places to get stuck, and have you ever been in that situation?

I know California Screamin could brake just before the loop, but not at %100 so your car would be in limbo between the loop and decline section, rocking back and forth without a platform on the side to evacuate onto.

I've also thought about the Haunted Mansion elevator and what if it stops halfway through? Do they have a way to evacuate people inside, or is there a backup motor?

If you can think of anything equally as unique as these situations, please feel free to share. I'm ultimately curious as to where the stopping points are in an attraction, where uncommon stops can occur, and the game plan as to how to evacuate people in that situation.

Worst place I ever got stuck was in Space Mountain's brake tunnel. This was before the rebuild, when the tunnel was a large, physically rotating orange-patterned tube. They turned on all the lights, but didn't stop the tunnel rotating. After about ten seconds, that awful optical illusion kicked in where it looks like the tunnel's standing still and you're turning upside down. We all had to close our eyes (full train). After about five minutes, a CM poked her head around the corner from the unload area to see if all was well and said, "Oh... Want me to stop the tunnel spinning?" And we all yelled, "YESSSS!!!!" :D

The very top of Spaceship Earth.
Just at the turn into the Sky Room.
July 4th 1983 around 8:00PM
We had to walk down the backstage stairs.
Our Daughter was five years old.
I had to carry her all the way down.
She fell asleep about half way down.
If that happens anytime in the future someone might have to carry me down..........:arghh:

Oh man, no doubt that would make me sick LOL i'm sorry you had to go through that.

Interesting! I can't imagine how many flights of stairs that would be.

On my last trip to Disneyland, Indiana Jones Adventure, our vehicle stopped at the finale (stone ball scene) and stayed in idle for about a full minute or so. The lights to the ball shut off and after another 30 seconds or so our vehicle started moving, still with no noise except for the jeep idle. It was the freakiest thing I've ever experienced on that ride.

Best place was RSR (and at some point I'm sure we've ALL been stuck on RSR), just a few feet from the unload zone. We got walked off the whole ten feet or so, so we wound up with a full ride AND an any-ride fastpass! :D

NOTE: I love this detail on RSR: When the cars have to e-stop they keep making idling/revving sounds as if they're impatient to get going again. :) I guess this is an idea carried over from Indy. Does Test Track do this?

I got stuck in the Stair Room in the Haunted Mansion, it was really annoying, not to mention, the cherry on top is that i could have been stuck in other much cooler scenes.

I also remember Winnie The Pooh Stopping Briefly. about 3 Times in one ride.

This exact stop happened to me on BOTH of my rides last week. It was so annoying. Even though the scene did continue after the stop, the fact that we sat under INDY for ~1 minute each time before the ball started ruined the finale. Is this a normal occurrence now? I was shocked it happened both times.

This was the first time it ever happened to me. When our vehicle moved towards the loading platform, I noticed the entire left side was full of cars and the straight route didn't have a single vehicle on it. Wonder if it was an issue with the turntable at the end?

I have experienced this as well a couple of times.
Love how the Transports keep 'idling' and slightly moving up and down....as if awaiting to rev off down the path again.

The whole Indy ride is basically a long series of stops and starts. Every stop along the way (doors, View of bridge, bridge stall, rat tunnel) happens because the jeep near the end needs time to clear the Boulder Room (plus time for the room to reset). If you're stuck in the boulder room, it most likely means there's a logjam at the unload zone. You can't leave the boulder room until the jeep ahead of you clears the "Indy Scolds You" room, and they can't move until there's room in the approach to Unload.

Some maroon probably dropped their phone at Unload while taking a selfie. :D If it ruined the finale, I'd ask the CMs for a pass.
