When we were there Nov 13-19th 2011 the lights were up, and I was told by a CM in the Pirates gift shop that they are on the First week of Nov. Now how much a CM in a gift shop knows about castle lighting I cant say.

All of the holiday stuff seems to be starting on Nov 8, looking at the calendar. Christmas Party and Osborne Lights.

A week ago I was sitting with my wife on our balcony at the contemporary around 1:00Am looking out at MK...I noticed in the distance a crane operator putting the lights on one of the lower turrets of Cinderella Castle.

While we don't know what the official schedule is for the hotels, in recent years it seems like the hotels sort of gradually get decorated one by one throughout November. Usually by the end of the week before Thanksgiving.
