OK, I haven't been on this site very long. But it seems as though there are quite a few fans of CBJ.
I've been going to Disney for 18 years now, and I am apparently sad to say that I have NEVER, not once, been inside CBJ. Never appealed to me from day one. If a few of you could reply and tell me what it is you love so much about this attraction I would appreciate it.
I understand this post may seem offensive to a few of you, and I may seem like an idiot for not having ever gone. Just take it easy and let me explain. When I first began going to Disney, my parents were in control of the guidemaps and also in charge of telling us youngsters what there was to do in the park. I'm not sure if they even realized it was there. And over the years when us kids finally started taking control of things, we kept going to what we percieved as the classics and rides we were familiar with.
So, anyway, that's my explanation. Its not long or complicated, but I think it deserves a little sympathy, and I promise the next time I'm in the Maic Kingdom, CBJ will be one of the first attractions I hit. Thanks.

Yeah, I've only been to it a couple of times.

I think it's one of those things you only have to see once.

Well, you REALLY appreciate when you've been going all your life. Sentimentality adds a lot!

But I'm sure you may like it if it's your first. A true Disney classic. :D

If this Main Street USA guy's icon is his Share a Legacy pic and that is him on the left.....I must say that he bears a striking resemblence to a certain Disney CEO. I know it is a CRUEL CRUEL thing to say to/about a person, but the resemblence is uncanny! Sorry Main Street USA.

I have always loved CBJ, but had never been able to convince my kids (ages 8 & 12) to go in and see it. During our last WDW visit over Christmas, I finally got them to go see the Christmas CBJ show. They absolutely loved it! Now they want to come back and see the regular show.

Ditto Main Street USA!!

I always avoided the CBJ because I thought it was nothing more than a "Chucky Cheese" event. This past week I decided to go see the show because of the many posts by grizzlyhall. Now I can say from first hand knowledge that the show is really bad. It needs to be put down like a wounded animal. A little child might be amused. If Walt were alive today he would have shut it down many years ago. Nolan Bushnell out classed this act in the early 1980's with a much smaller CPU! Anyone remember Pizza Inn? I almost forgot, the "story" stinks too!:snore:

Thanks for the various replies. I thought it was probably more sentimental than anything else. There are quite a few rides in Disney World I feel that way about. TTA, COP, Dumbo Etc. etc. These rides seem cheezy to some but I can ride them over and over just to remind me of when I used to go as a kid.
And by the way, that IS a pic of me and my wife. Actually its a drawing, and because of the limited amount of picture quality we're capable of posting, its not that close to looking like me. BUt I would definitley say its close enough that people who know me would recognize me from looking at it.

CBJ SUCKS!!!!111 Just kidding

I'm not the biggest fan of CBJ, but I must say it's a classic and should always be preserved. I usually don't have much time when I'm down in Walt Disney World (4/5 days), so CBJ is a ride that'll sometimes get overlooked by me. But it's a really fun show when you finally get in there.

I don't mind CBJ.. but its one of those things I could care less if I miss it during a visit. Its somewhat amusing, but overall mostly noisy and boring. The show seemed to be in bad shape too last time I saw it. It was hard to make out what noises were coming from what bear. Like said above, CBJ is really nothing more than an overblown Chuck E Cheese, but I guess if I had been seeing it since it opened, I might appreciate it more. Or maybe not. (BTW, I am a fan of Carousel of Progress, grizzlyhall's other favorite show, so its not that I don't really like CBJ because its old ;) )

Don't compare it to CEC. If you think it is that way, don't see the show at all. You have to come in with a nice attitude. It is NOTHING LIKE the animatronics at CEC at all...that would NOT be Disney.

...and Chuck E. Cheese (and its whole CEC company) was created because they loved the Jamboree. In fact, this company made a Bear Country Jubille a couple years later...so I would say that CEC is a WAY WAY WAY underbown CBJ.

I must confess that CBJ is one of those "if we have time" sort of attractions, just like the Tiki Room. If we're passing by, and the next show time is only a few minutes away, we stop in. If not, we keep on walking to the HM or Splash/Big Thunder! Sorry Grizzly. :(

Where is my whole defending crew? Y'all are backing out on me, eh? LOL

Anyway, I wouldn't visit CBJ if you think it will be bad. If you don't like Classic Americana Hoedown type music (or NONDRUNK, FUNCTIONING  bears) then I would recommend it. Usually people around the age of 20 who don't have kids and visit the attraction with a sour attitude get the worst out of it (which of course, I see no "worst")...

The show is very well-loved, me being one of its "hundreds of thousandsth" (according to a CM friend of mine) fan. So, it does not need to be shot down. In fact, to many families and guests they find the show fun. But some people hate it. Therefore, it needn't be shot down...

CBJ still and will always have fans whether someone here likes it or not. :king:

And the story is...well...that it's a THEATER SHOW...just like any other concert/production by a backwoods bear theater... If you want more "story", the other two (well, only one existing in the US) shows...

:D

I think griz needs to face the fact that he might be in the minority, especially in these boards. Sure, a lot of people may like it, but i'm betting more people pass it by than stop in.

CBJ

I'm with the majority on this one. Although I don't think the attraction is terrible. It is something I will do if I have time, and I've done everything else... twice.....or three times...... or maybe if I was forced to with physical harm to be done to my body if I were to resist.

Just kidding Grizzlyhall:D

Yeah, I guess I am one of the only classic fans around...

But that doesn't necessarily hold true for the entire public... ;)

See y'all sometime in the future.

But you seem to be the only person that deams to think that something is going to happen.

If there had even been any rumors that something was happening to the bears.

Yes, people may be acting like they care. But since there hasn't been the slightest rumor that somethign is going on, what you are doing is just fear mongering. And people just aren't falling into it yet.
