Rumor Country Bear Jamboree to be Replaced by Toy Story Show?

Well first they closed the one in DL in 2001. So I’ve been worried for this one ever since. I think they’ve shortened it some, haven’t they? Maybe they could do a Toy Story stage show wherever there were rumors of building a Moana ride. Not sure where I read that. Maybe I am getting Adventureland and Frontierland mixed up. Does anyone know how much space/land, if any is available down at that end of the park?? I always feel like they could bust out and expand, but maybe not. I always vote to keep the older attractions, they’ve become Classics in my book. But my vote doesn’t seem to count. It always seems to me they could keep things and still add, but it doesn’t seem to work that way. Also, I’ve always thought it would be cool to preserve DL and let it be the “museum” park, but I know that idea would not go over well. Anyway, for those who have seen the now shortened version of Country Bears, it is not as good as the full version.

I don't think that would work. Don't forget that DL's Country Bears had two theaters, so I'd imagine it was a much larger building to begin with. They probably wouldn't have enough room here.
Well, do Tiki and CBJ back up to one another? Maybe they're both on the chopping block!

Per a certain site, Country Bear Jamboree is to be replaced imminently by a new Toy Story stage show.
Why don't we just get rid of Cinderella's Castle while we are at it. What an "Eye Sore". REALLY!? Just because it is no TRON coaster or part of Galaxy's Edge, then we should shut down the Country Bears? Nostalgia and memories of Walt is what keeps families coming back year after year. Let's turn the Castle into a Space Ship with rockets and fire if that is what the Walt Disney Corporation is becoming.

In fact, why don't we just get rid of Liberty Square all together. We can start by cutting down the Liberty Tree. If something is so outdated as the Country Bears needs to go, than certainly the nearly 110 year old southern Live Oak needs to go too. Somebody please wake up the Disney brass, if this rumor is true, to let them know that die-hard Disney World fans need the Country Bears to stay.

I don't think current management cares what die-hard Disney World fans want.

Current management primarily cares about what 3-17 year old children of parents and grandparents with means want.

13 and 16 is not the demographic CBJ appeals to. It's supposed to be singing bears for the little kids and the occasional adult joke for older folks.
My 6-year olds thought it was stupid and I thought it was boring and crass. But we also like Great Moments in History more than Hall of Presidents.

For the record, my 6-year olds loved the Enchanted Tiki Room.

This is true. We may feel like we're on a tall pedestal on these boards... But in reality? We're such a small demographic to Disney in the grand scheme of things. The average park guest wants what they want.

I'm sure more people would prefer Toy Story over Bears. But that doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. (At least OUTSIDE of a business stand point, sadly.)

If I was your 6-year-old I wouldn't enjoy it either, probably.

One night, I left the wife at home,
And I went out with the boys.
I was acting like a Don Juan,
And making a lot of noise.

ZEKE
Tell ’em, lover boy!

ERNEST
A go-go girl caught my hand,
I said, “I can’t. I’m a married man.”
She said “If you ain’t gonna steal,
You better not prowl.”

SUN BONNETS
Every time I meet a guy who gets me shook,
All I ever get from him’s a dirty look.
It’s the same way everywhere, I’ve found.
All the guys that turn me on turn me down.

All the guys that turn me on turn me down.
Nothing works for me that I’ve found.
It’s the same way everywhere, I see.
Nothing ever seems to work for me.

The comments from the male bears as Teddi Barra sings

TEDDI BARRA
Well, there he goes.
He hardly knows
The heart he’s breaking.

MAX
Lovely, lovely.

TEDDI BARRA
I talked to him,
But I don’t think
He understood.

BUFF
Aw, sing it gal!

TEDDI BARRA
Oh, just forget
About the plans
That we were makin’.

HENRY
My, my.

TEDDI BARRA
Heart, we did all that we could.

(Music continues as TEDDI BARRA’s swing starts to rise.)

TEDDI BARRA
Y’all come up and see me some time, ya hear?!

HENRY
Yeah! Soon as I find a ladder, I’ll be right up! Mm-hmm!

Not my cup of tea and not really what I expect to listen to in the Magic Kingdom in 2019. I don’t need my kids hearing about “whoopings” or thinking that this is how we speak toward and about women (whose value is derived from their looks, of course).

Singing critters are a staple of Disneydom. Keep'm.
If attendance is low offer interactivity (those magicbands got to be good for something)
free food (popcorn?) randomization (rotating shows) etc. I really don't think it that difficult to boost attendance.
I also don't think Toy Story need be added to yet another area of MK, fwiw.

Then who exactly is the demographic?
You have obviously never lived in the south. That's basically the demographic. It is essentially a hilarious mocking of rural southern culture. And it is hilarious because it is true. If you can't get that, then you need to culture yourself, or just keep walking over to Splash Mountain. That won't hurt you.

It's because you don't get it.. And that's okay. It is hard to understand certain attractions if you've never grown up in the culture they're based on. Heck, that's why I don't enjoy Impressions de France. All that "beautiful music and video shots" just doesn't do it to me. But that is the essence of France. Beauty. The essence of country is slapstick humor, country accents, an occasional lazy eye with half the teeth missing, and good ol' country music with funny lines. If you're not laughing at half the lines in the song, then you're way too serious of a human being. And that's why I don't hang out with people that don't get.... Well. Humor. Especially good country humor. That's the funniest kind.

So yea. I could never understand how some people would prefer Tiki Room over CBJ unless they've had the life sucked out of em, or they're just the most bland person in the world. (Or if they're attached to Disney history in general. I can get behind that one.)
