I don't know how often stuff breaks down in the new show, but when I was there in June, Ernest's smoke effect didn't work. Sucked cause he's my favorite bear and that was what I was most excited to see in person. Romeo's heart lights were also broken :/

How do they let things stay broken for so long? Especially in a small show that doesn't have much???
Lack of institutional knowledge maybe?

So Teddi Barra has just been missing entirely from the show for almost a week. It's kind of insane they're just leaving the show running instead of closing to fix her. Bad show.
It wouldn’t be that hard to have “sub” scenes programmed to sub in when a figure is down for unexpected reasons.
Indeed. The easiest probably being a "malfunctioning curtain" gag and have her singing behind it, in silhouette.

Very bad show.
Sad to learn of this.

A major show element like this, back in the day, would cause the Attraction to close until it was resolved.
Capacity be damned.
No excuses.

Today…..entirely different company and directives.
Major show elements and effects can be offline or simply turned off and Attractions operate regardless.
“Those silly tourists won’t notice…it’s good enough”.
Um, no.

There are still good people there working behind the scenes trying to fix things.
There are a few I am aware of that have been working some real magic on their own free will but it’s like salmon trying to swim upstream.
A battle.

Let’s hope at some point soon Teddi gets the attention she needs.
The show really should not be operating without her.

Honestly, times have changed so much that l think I’d rather have the capacity 🤷

Still should be fixed much faster than whatever is going on. But any capacity sinks are important

Do we know how much it costs Disney to make a costume? Surely it can't be that expensive. I wonder if they'd ever pony up some money to finally give Henry a walk-around costume (other than the one from Disney on Parade in the 70s), or for Trixie since they've been using her a lot in the marketing for the show lately? I know four bears is a lot already, but at least have the main character as a meet-and-greet!
Costumes can be extremely expensive.
Many interchangeable parts, and crafting them in itself takes a lot of time and investment.
We are talking multiple thousands of dollars and then some for just one suit.
Non- Disney professional character costumes can be anywhere from $3,500 to $75,000 or more per suit.

Now, multiply that by several duplicates of just ONE character needed for daily use and several different performers.
Then multiply that by the many, many different characters and costumed performers on Property.
You are talking big big bucks.

That or cut the scene entirely until she is working.
Like I've said in the past- if they had gone with the Star Tours route of giving each bear a few different songs they could sing (and a few different combos of duets), it'd not only give more of an incentive to see the show multiple times, but also for situations like this, if one bear stops working they can simply turn off those programs. So in this case, Wendell would sing solo or with someone else (Henry?). But since they just did the classic "one standard version of the show with no variations", now we get disembodied Teddi.

At least in this case though, I'd imagine they'd only have one of each costume for the Country Bears (at Magic Kingdom, I know Anaheim, Tokyo, and Paris all have copies of the costumes), so it'd be on the lower end cost-wise. There's also a Teddi costume from the 70s-80s they could always take out and refurb.
