We are 79 days! So very close! It has me thinking of doing a countdown of some sort. So, thought I would ask all my friends. How do you countdown? Do you do anything special or fun? Have any cool ideas for kids?

Counting Down

We do something a little different....instead of a count down it is more a count up.
We will start saving in a big old jar...put in a dollar or two a day.
Then we will start skipping things like going to a movie, or pizza night, then put what we would have spent in the jar instead...sort of a fun way to save! " Look sweetie...instead of going out for lunch today I put $10 in the Disney Jar."
"Oh yeah, well I almost bought a new pair of pumps but put $50 in the Disney jar instead."
OK..it is silly but fun...The most fun is the day before we leave we count up the Disney fund, no checking the amount till then, and use it for food, gas, snacks and especially my wife's favorite...outlet shopping.
We don't have kids, but if we did we would get them involved, then as an incentive...offer to match ever how much they wound up with in their own Disney jars...and then they would have to decide how to spend it...guess that would work better with older kids though.
Anyway, we don't count down...we end up counting up to savings...silly I guess and we've only done it a few times in dozens of trips.

Now that's what I call self-control! I'd fill the jar and eat them...LOL.
Hey @Jessica Meier, I'm at 78 days so the excitement is really starting to build, especially knowing we can do the online check-in at 60 days. The only countdown I have right now is the thread on these boards.

We leave Aug 3rd from pa to drive down. check in Aug 4th, not doing anything special to count down just more & more excited to leave work & pa for a week. Our excitement of counting down is asking the Kids what all rides & what all they want to do . The answers are exciting & fun to hear, they are very excited.

I believe it was @Alison1975 that had a great idea I totally ripped off.
Get a board with a collage of Disney pics from all the year went then randomly put the amount of days
(ex. if you had 88 days you'd have 88 post its numbered 1-88)
on some post it notes and cover the board.
Then every day you come home someone pulls the next day off and reveals an awesome WDW moment from the past until you get to 1!
Next thing you know you're staring at a a sweet collage and an even sweeter vacation.

Only 5 days left for us...I have the Disney countdown app and upload it to fb every once in a while.
