Counter service breakfast at Beach Club Resort?

Is there a good counter service breakfast to be had at the Beach Club resort? I always have liked the Adult Breakfast platter that is at a lot of the resorts, but the Beach Club has only either the Cape May Cafe or the crappy breakfast snacks at the Marketplace. We ended up walking to Epcot for breakfast at the land. Is there a better option for a decent counter service breakfast at the Beach Club??

In the Yacht Club (which they are connected and easy to pass between - although it can be a long walk depending on where you are in the resort), there is a lounge in the Lobby that has coffee, bagels, and little breakfast munchies.

This was our only complaint with the Yacht Club, no counter service type breakfast place. We've always stayed at the Poly, Contemporary or for a short trip, one of the moderates. We've even stayed at the GF which had a counter service place. A couple years ago because of a conference, we stayed at the Yacht Club. The location is terrific but we found the breakfast options to be limited and disappointing. Either you did a character breakfast or sit down or you had a bagel. There were not egg croissant sandwiches or breakfast platters to be had. Since there was only 2 of us, we were fine but if the whole group had gone (10 of us) we'd have been stuck paying a lot more for breakfast than we normally do. On a positive note, the Eggs Benedict at the Yacht Club are the best I've had on property. Instead of Canadian Bacon, they use Prosciutto.

The Marketplace isn't great, but I found it to have the needed things for a quick breakfast. They had egg sandwiches, pastries, and bagels. Not as grand as food courts at the resorts, but it did the job. I agree that it would be nice for the Y&B to have at least a small counter serve location like all the other resorts.

Go accross the pond to the Boardwalk and the Boardwalk Bakery has egg sandwiches and pastries. Really no matter where you stay at in the Epcot resort area there is no real counter service like the other resort offer. I never really understood that.

We just returned from the Yacht Club and our only negative was the lack of counter service. Generally my hubby walks to get a bigger type breakfast and the kids and I get a small something to eat we were all dissapointed with the selections. Resort location is great but counter service options are lacking for breakfast lunch or dinner

This is the main reason why we will probably never stay there again. It was so hard to get breakfast. DH and I are not huge breakfast eaters except when on vacation we like a little something to get us going and they had nothing at the YC. Same applied of we wanted a little something later in the day. Beaches and Cream just didn't work for us, plus it was quite a walk as we were at the very end of the YC.

The omelette croissant and meat optional sandwiches from the Marketplace were great for me. My mom and sis loved the parfaits. They have other light breakfast foods there as well.

Though not a true counter service location, it was fine. The food was always very good.

But, yes, your options are very limited.

What should be done is to convert Captain's Grille on the Yacht Club side to a counter service food court location for breakfast and dinner. Lunch is easy to get from Hurricane Hannah's, Beaches & Cream, the Marketplace, or a BoardWalk location. Cape May Cafe can be the Resort sit down location, and Captain's Grille can be the new counter service location. I am sure it can be done with a little remodel.

Cape May Cafe remains as the sister Resort fullservice dining location, and Captain's Grille can be remodeled to work as a counter service food court location for at least breakfast and dinner.

It would be very popular and easy to get to from both locations.

The Dolphin has a nice cafeteria style place that offers breakfast. My guess as to the limited CS breakfast places in that area could be to try and encourage people to eat breakfast at all of the TS places available.
