Countdown to Extinction: Dinoland USA Appreciation

Thought I'd share some interesting Chester and Hester's facts. I'll try to list some more obscure stuff than the usual details shared about the area:

- The little triceratops on top of TriceraTop Spin actually points to something specific even though it spins; directly in front of her is the accessible dinosaur. TriceraTop Spin is also the only ride I've seen with a customized wheelchair that matches it.

- TriceraTop Spin CMs mess around with the take off spiel a lot; among other ones I've heard "What does this button do?", "Buckle up, 'cause this here is the wildest ride in Dinoland USA! You know, depending on who you ask", and singing "You Can Fly". When the ride malfunctions they'll normally describe it as falling asleep midair.

- The picture of Chester and Hester has an extra joke to it that is hard to see since the image is so small; in Restaurant O'saurus, the picture is bigger and you can see they were digging in a restricted area.

- You have to be pretty lucky to see them actually used, but the games have built in sound effects like clapping.

- Chester and Hester's Dinosaur Treasures was one of like four stores to get 50th anniversary decorations. I'm pretty sure it was the only one that wasn't the big central store of the park it was in. Among other things, the big dinosaur got a retro shirt and Mickey hat.

You can also tell in the photo that Hester is just Chester in Drag...😆

Did they change the lighting on the first carnotaurus to make it more visible? This video was taken on Jan 2, but I've never seen it look like this in a video before:

It looks like they did. They would have a mix set of lights but they were really dim on him. It's really sad to see the Photo Carno in a position you have to lean the camera to get a good view of him..

I was definitely shocked at how bright he looked on one of my recent rides (before the 12th), so I vote that they did.

On a related note, I don't know how, but somehow that first carnotaurous always looks scarier in videos than on the actual ride.

The Photo Carno if he stood up straight like he use to and roar louder was a bit scary shown here...
