Could the Mickey RFID reader be dead?

But to answer your original question, don't think it's dead but don't think we will see it in Star Wars Land either though.

It's been removed from most point of sale locations too, since the original credit card processors couldn't handle Chip. The new ones have no Mickey head.

Figures Disney cutting costs again. Bad enough majority of the merchandise can be found anywhere around the parks but also outside the parks. When will Disney realize the constant cost cutting and eroding of the little things that make it special will eventually catch up with you. Most people care that their cups say Disney Magic Kingdom and not just Disney Parks. Now if they were saving all this money and putting it into getting new things every few years and good maintenance I would agree would be fine trade off. But that isn't what is happening. SW land has taken over 20 years since we saw something his major coming to the World. After all the 50th things I'm sure they will go back to not doing anything of substance for years again.

I love how everyone is an expert on the ins and out of the Disney Corporation financing. I don't care that my cup says Magic Kingdom, I'm just drinking out of it. i'd rather they cut costs on small things then say make all of their resorts an extra $100 a night. Honestly the only person that should be complaining about Disney cost cutting is their accountant.

I dunno. If you look at the arrangement of pipes in the background they appear to be different scanners. The "ACE" logo appears to have a machined aluminum ring in it, not the sort of thing that would be installed as a decal.

Whatever they did they took away the blank ones it seems.
