Could Disney ever do something like this?

The same technology has been explored by Disney. They used it during the opening ceremony of the Tower of Terror at Walt Disney Studios in Paris. They are also using this technology in a way to project pictures on the castle next year. It just won't be utilized to it's fullest potential.

I've always thought Disney could plus LOTS of buildings and architecture with nighttime projections like these. Whether it is on Tower of Terror to make it look like the building is coming alive or that it is raining or whether it is on Space Mountain. How about Haunted Mansion or Spaceship Earth or Cinderella Castle. It can be used in shows or during holidays or just as an everyday experience.

DLP has used this projection technology for 2 events.

Phantom Manor during Halloween.

And the grand opening of the Tower of Terror.

I've heard that in DLP they are crazy about projecting stuff on buildings. So much that he told me that it gets pretty boring after a while.

But, I agree, an occasional projection is really cool.

Ok. That was amazing. I see what Disney is TRYING to go for with their projection but it doesn't even come close to that clock video. And LOL@ some of the posters who thought they were so cleaver in posting the Castle video . While I love some of the options with WDW's Castle, this video is 100 years ahead of what our castle is getting. Great find!

Could Disney make an animation like that? Of course. Will they? Nope, they'd rather display pictures like a Windows 95 screensaver.
