Could Boo Bash be a hint for the future?

A big yes on this. Effectively Disney can charge for a day ticket and a night ticket for the same day. This would truly make shareholders very happy and as we all know, shareholders are number 1 at TWDC..
Yep. I’ve been known to rant/warn against “block pricing” on this and another forum for probly 12-15 going back?

this isn’t quite there…but is absolutely moving towards it. No customer will receive good value in the long run for pay by the minute. Because Wall Street requires the screws to be tightened. Even if people like it NOW…they cannot really allow it to continue if the revenue stream becomes flat off it.

free market conundrum.

anyway: two tickets for essentially the same thing in a single park on the same day = bad

Bad for guests = good for stockholders 🙁

A similar discussion is going on in the Boo Bash thread, with the same points being made. I have no issue with people passionately advancing their positions on a discussion board - that's clearly why these sites exist.

But at some point, you (in the general sense) have to accept that people will pay Disney for things that you fervently and sincerely believe are not worth it. That doesn't make them childish, stupid or spineless and they aren't ruining Disney. In fact, it's possible they think the things you (again in the general sense) pay Disney for are not worth it and are encouraging Disney to change in undesirable ways. It would be nice to see a little more tolerance when it comes to how people choose to spend their money on a luxury vacation.
This is well said. For me, time is the most valuable thing I posses. With it, I can make money, so money is less important than time.

I am willing to pay Disney for my time. I will pay more for less time in line, shorter commutes to parks, and overall more pleasure in the time I spend in the park (i.e. less crowds and well behaved masses). If that makes me stupid, so be it. ...but none of us have very much time left, and should all value it greatly. Every hour is precious.

I'm not sure if this was the point you are making...but I noticed the extra paid Halloween and holiday parties became more and more crowded to the point I was done with it.

Haven't been back since.

That’s exactly what happened from 2010-2019…and they TRIPLED the price. That’s exactly what I’m saying. More people at higher cost. They aren’t permitted to reject selling more. That’s the deal.

so this year…and frankly the place is a ghost town since July….they will have “smaller” crowds. And at a much higher price.

but it’s a bit fool to think they will keep low crowds if people will pay. That is the least likely scenario. 0.01% chance.

so you could see larger crowds - as with the old parties - while they raise prices in an “attempt to Lower the crowds”…
And it works!! For a decade.

As a Six Flags AP pass holder for over a decade, I can tell you Six Flags may be more affordable than WDW, but that does not make it inferior. At least, not in many different ways. ...sure there are a couple of course 😝
Six flags isnt really comparable. Regional parks are just that: short duration to attract from a defined part of the map.

six flags is tacky and run down more than not…but you don’t need to block out a week, airfare and a $300 a night “moderate” hotel to see one. And…and what isn’t stressed enough…you can decide you want it tomorrow morning and 8 hours later be hurling after barrel rolls

That's exactly me. My family goes to bed early and we don't care for Halloween much, so Boo Bash would be a tremendous waste of money for us. But I ain't mad at Disney for offering it, and I hope you have a blast.
And I'm the opposite, I go to Halloween events to be scared. Not for Halloween lite.

To add to the discussion about Disney being worth it. while Genie+ has drawn me back,. I still prefer parks that offer high thrills and G forces. Give me a coaster where you will grey out going the first drop over any Disney ride any day.

Like many have said, most Disney rides are 1 and done. No wonder most are happy with being able to ride things once.

Serious question, what brought you to a Disney fan community in the first place?

I'm a fan of amusement parks. I have a few sites I am on. Don't get me wrong I don't hate Disney and want to take my kid there, it's just I'm at the age still where my body can handle high intensity.

I will say it does bug me when so many here take shots at other parks not Disney. I only say that cause I'm a ln amusement park enthusiast.i do want to like Disney as much as most of you but with how Chapek has done things and how some of you put down other parks it's hard to like Disney.

I mean, objectively, they are second tier.
They certainly aren’t anywhere near the quality of Disney parks. But I don’t think there ever was a serious attempt to equate the two. There shouldn’t be…they were never built or operated to a similar standard. But that’s ok.
Dollywood is awesome. Cedar Fair is impressive, but not my speed. Six Flags is below me.
We all talk/frequent Disney parks…there never was…nor ever will be anything “patrician” about that. Nothing is “below” anyone here. That also kinda feeds managements mentality that has gotten them to accept park stagnation as “appropriate”.

Maybe Six Flags is different where you live. In my experience, it's where dropouts go to get high in the parking lot. It's dirty and unsafe.

I love rinkydink amusement parks. Santa's Village, Story Land, Canobie Lake Park, Lake Compounce... sign me up. I love Hershey Park, Dollywood, and Busch Gardens. Not Six Flags.

A whole lotta stereotyping going on there…

it’s a local/regional draw…which means it draws from the local/regional spectrum. So there’s a cross section going to them. I’m aware that most people at six flags great adventure haven’t bought DVC…and somehow I tolerate them as my bodyguards screen them from me as I walk toward el toro….

going to Orlando is cost restrictive for a lot of the regional park crowd…it’s far, required multiple days at high cost and overpriced food and lodging…

…I’m just not as repulsed by the existence of those two worlds. I live in New Jersey…where they make you pay to go on the municipal beaches that the state/feds pay for through fees and taxes…some people build 4 story beach front locations (to see over the dunes)…causing the people behind to build 5…
Others wait until after 5 pm so they don’t have to pay $10 to go on the beach in front of the equestrian estates.

but they co-exist…no one seems to care/notice.

by similar comparison: no where with a rollercoaster is an elite playground.

33 has its heads up where there is “little oxygen”…in reality 😎

Yes, it is different. Six Flags over Texas (by my house) and Six Flags Great America (by my old house), and Six Flags Fiesta Texas are all clean, safe, and fun. We have never felt unsafe. ...but yea, everyone is just a little less polite. Most blatant difference is the quality of the staff. I will say Six Flags hire based on desperation it seems. It's pretty bad.

The best staff promote to big ride teams and the train team. Those folks are all comparable in quality to the WDW baseline.

I'll never forget sitting in Islands of Adventure waiting for some chicken strips. It was off peak meal time so I was the only one in there and had to wait for them to cook it from scratch. The two employees behind the counter spent the entire time discussing which sex acts they wanted to perform on one another once their shifts ended.
