Cost of Renting Parks for Private Party

I can’t imagine them doing a private party during regular park hours (i.e. McDonald’s was after park hours) Could you imagine the riot that would erupt if they told forty thousand people that MK was closed today because Michael Jackson rented the park.

nope, i worked the mcdonalds event this year... crap... last year ('04) and we closed at 6pm, like it was normal closing hours... and the MK transformed COMPLETELY into pleasure island in one hour, ready for McDonald's guests...
that was probably my FAVORITE night of working any special event... and one of the most memorable. it was GREAT, and you couldn't walk 5 feet without running into a disney character or streetmosphere entertainer... it was GREAT--- except the open bar - there were a lot of people highly intoxicated, and when we got ready to do spectro, you could smell the alcohol all down the parade route... LOL - but it was a LOT of fun!

Day time rent out.

A few years back I was at Epcot when the right hand side of Future World, (Sea, Land, Imagination), was rented out to Arthur A. Anderson Consulting from 4 PM until park close. I received a letter under the door at the resort I was staying in, a message on the phone, and there were "sandwich" signs at the park entrance and in that half of FW. Basically they were saying it was those attractions that would be closed to the public at 4 PM for a private party.

All that advance notice was hard to miss but the line for Imagination at 3:30 was all the way back to Space Ship Earth.

At one time Disneyland had information on renting out for a minimum of 4 hours for $25,000. Now they customize more at both parks although DL has birthday and picnic celebrations they advertise on their web site. While you would actually have to talk with a planning specialist http://disneymeetings.disney.go.com/dwm/home/home?name=HomePage gives an idea of what they have available.

If I were going to rent MK, I would just rent out TTA, Timekeeper, and CoP! Now that's a night to remember! :p

That doesn't make much sense at all!! Seriously, there is never a wait for any of those attractions so why waiste the money for nothing? Just a thought.

Seriously!!!!

Why do something at all like that!!! I'd say rent out the park and make them bring back Diamond Horseshoe and the Keelboats!!!!! They've been removed, but they could always come back!!!!

Dude, I was kidding! Notice the sarcastic "tongue-sticking-out smiley face" that was meant to denote the light-heartedness of the post.

I'd obviously want to rent out Space, Splash, Buzz, etc.

Ohhhhhhh! Sorry I don't pay much attention to those faces!!! Ok your second solution makes much more sense. Now all you have to worry about is becoming a multi-millionaire so you could afford that!!!! Well, first of all, build a timemachine!!! Then invest all of your Spring Quarter Tuition money into IBM!!! You will be a millionaire in no time. All you have to figure out is that whole time-space continum thing. But once you have that you are good to go.

Well thanks for posting everyone. I was always curious, because I know several people who got to hang out in MK and MGM after hours. That is a pretty steep penny to rent out the park like that. Maybe when I win the lottery I will invite you all.

Last month as we came walking out of MGM all the Pop Warner people came walking in. Must be nice to be able to rent the whole darn thing.

wow, that isnt that bad, i mean if you are a major corporation. some corporations waste more money than that on the annual holiday party

just curious, how does disney inform the public that the park is closed that day. the only reason i ask, is once i drove to a park (not named) 2 hours away to find out that it was "band camp night". no kidding!!!! i swear i was so ****ed. i know i should have checked thier calender, it was my fault, but i was still mad!

(and yes, it was pre "American Pie" movie. otherwise i would have broken into the back entrance or started blowing a horn like fake petie to get into that party)

A similar situation happened to us this past December when we went to Hollywood Studios to see the lights only to be told that the park was being shut down for a private party, not only were we upset but we weren't told in advance otherwise we would have adjusted our itinerary, if it wasn't the last year for them it wouldn't of mattered.
