Ok so I guess it’s my time to get banned even though I just showed up. I feel like a year of pent up anger at this whole thing is coming out of me at once.

Corona virus is a deadly pandemic - fact

We have a vaccines that eliminate 99.99 % percent of the risk to you personally - fact

Vaccines are free and readily accessible to all adults and soon some younger teens - fact

If you are too lazy, stupid or both to get vaccinated I am done caring about you period. Why ? Because you don’t care about me or society as a whole.

Don’t bore me with you junk science anti vax garbage either.

Furthermore I hope insurance companies stop covering any covid related medical expenses of the unvaccinated. Personal freedom right?

Why should I have to pay increased premiums due to your inability to care about anything other than yourself?

For the pc police in this thread I understand some people can’t get vaccinated for medical reasons or have autoimmune disease that still put them at risk even after vaccination. To them I’m truly sorry this is a horrible situation for you.

For everyone else who doesn’t get vaccinated just remember when society and this country you claim to love, needed you to step up, you showed your true colors.

fact: Not everyone who is eligible for the vaccine has had a reasonable chance to be fully vaccinated yet. So we need to be cautious until at least we pass that benchmark, and then we still have kids to think about who, as of me writing this, are not eligible yet.

As for stopping coverage for the unvaccinated, although I agree in principle, that opens could lead to a slippery slope where insurance companies start dropping you for less obvious reasons.

I'm vaccinated already so I don't need to catch COVID-19 during fall and winter anymore. As the pandemic is finally over, no more surges and outbreaks or spikes for good. Is NYC will be safe in fall and winter when I return to visit NYC as masks will be gone already by fall and winter as I'm still vaccinated already. @ImperfectPixie

I understand people wanting not to wear masks at the World and I understand the updated CDC guidance. Masks aren't fun to wear especially in hot muggy humid weather. They hurt your ears after awhile and they usually don't match our outfits.

I think the reason why some are overly cautious is due to the fact that people from all walks of life do come to the parks. Its one thing to go outside to the neighborhood park without a mask as majority of those people are people you run into on a daily/weekly basis living in your communities.

Its another thing when you go to Disney parks where there is a large chance of someone having a strain Covid that is resistance to antibodies and more due to the people in their communities etc. Last thing we need is a India situation due to someone having a mutated virus and the park going back on lockdown.

Yeah I get the part about insurance being a slippery slope but I feel like whatever consequences are levied as motivation if you will, need to be punitive.

I have heard from 4 people personally so far that they are holding out on getting the vaccine because they are waiting to get a check to do so.

I say why give them a check send them a bill.

Also sucks: twins with whom I graduated high school, one guy, one girl. Their 50th birthday is today. She posted on FB that he has been on a ventilator since the end of April.

We just need to remember the only reason we need to wear masks at all, is because of the selfish people who don’t care about others.

There is no mutation that is proven to be resistant to the vaccine at any rate of significance.

Sure. Then we will have a booster.

My post was pointing out the simple fact that covid restrictions are due to people not getting vaccinated.

Masks are a covid restriction and I would like them gone, so please get vaccinated.

Another anecdotal story about getting a shot. Please feel free to share. We have friends whose 13 year old son was diagnosed with heart failure a year ago. He was in the hospital for months during Covid waiting for a transplant. He finally got one and eventually went home. Their entire family has been quarantined for over a year. He has now learned that the vaccine will never provide full protection for transplant patients. The only way he can live less vigilantly is if more healthy people get the vaccine. Please please help this child and others like him leave the house again. It’s not fair. You think kids wearing masks is detrimental? Imagine being a normal teenager that can’t socialize again or attend school because healthy adults won’t get a shot. To add to this - his freaking 60 year old grandfather died of Covid. Come on people!

I may be mis-reading your double negative, but 100% mask compliance would NOT have eradicated COVID-19, but it is likely it would have significantly reduced the case count.

More Pfizer was ordered a few weeks ago to compensate for Moderna consistently missing their shipment targets.

If AZ is stopped, I'm sure more of some other brand will be ordered. 4 different vaccines have been approved so far.

Pfizer sure is looking dapper in all this...

there are many that have droned on for a year about how “intolerable” this has been and what they’re “losing” (important stuff...like proms )...

but these people actually have been stretched to the extreme

So honest question, does anyone object to all restrictions being lifted once a vaccination rate of 80% of total pollution is achieved.

The endgame needs to be spelled out clearly and specifically.

Yes. It’s very very sad. I do think people who haven’t been personally impacted by Covid illness and death are less likely to change their behavior. Sadly I know 8 people that lost their lives to Covid so I am very cautious
