My first thought when I read that post was Illinois, they are still on pretty strong restrictions and are getting absolutely destroyed right now.

Living in a more rural area of Illinois, the restrictions are there for sure, the region I live in had mitigations implemented a few weeks ago, but there are a lot of people who are taking no notice. Many restaurants are staying open, bars, etc. As a teacher, I'm very careful, but I worry that some families may not be taking this as seriously as the current situation warrants. I do have to say that mask compliance by the kids has been great. Social distancing is a little more challenging, but also better than I expected (for the most part). But numbers in our area are soaring.

When I voted today, one of the election workers, an older lady, had her mask under her chin and was talking nonstop to the people around her.

No, no, no. No one will say this is an issue any more because it was only done to spite the president.

Anyway, here's some post-election spite...

While deaths are down from last week... they stopped going down and have plateaued. The rising cases and hospitalizations will probably lead to it going back up.

Positivity numbers are still two days old, waiting for them to update... unless the people who track that were only doing it to hurt Trump!!!

It doesn’t matter, the Senate stays the same. So for the purpose of this thread, no additional COVID relief. And with such a squeaker more ammunition for the people to do whatever the heck works for them, personally, regardless of what public officials might say. Forget national strategy, forget 50 state strategy, we are going with 330 million different direction strategy.

Patton congratulated soldiers that took initiative and took risks to get things done, accomplish missions. He believed in making sure the soldiers knew the mission. the objectives, then let the soldiers show what they could do.

Credibility = History = Not being transparent = Simply! Don't trust what they say. When I see actual enforceable legal parameters for data usage, storage and erasure it could be a good thing. Right now its a lot of statements just talk and words. Smacks of manipulation by a few arrogant self appointed enlightened.

Manipulation? Have there been reports of the data being used inappropriately? I haven’t heard anything like that but I’d be interested to see/read about it.

I have the PA Covid app. On the storage side the app itself is 13.7MB and I have 1MB of documents and data so it takes up very little space. The app has used 128KB of data in the last 10 days so next to nothing there. The specs on how long your phone keeps data stored and the policy for deleting it is all spelled out in the terms and conditions. I’m not sure what you mean by enforceable legal parameters. There’s no feed of any data from my phone back to Apple or the PA department of Health. The app reaches out to the PA department of health for alerts but that is pushed from them to me, there’s no return feed. I can delete the app at any time and with it all of the stored data.
