So many thoughts. Not sure how to react.
I mean - if it gets through to people. I’m all for it.

Every state can choose to flatten its own curve if you don’t test and call everything pneumonia...Yeah. Unfortunately, the numbers are up today from yesterday. Maybe it was just a delay in reporting because it was Sunday. The number of new cases today is still lower than Friday and Saturday, though which is something.
Sorry 'bout that. Try this one:

I am your parents’ age & those folks are most likely scared or angry about their own situations. Whatever they say reveals the kind of people they are, but, unless they know you personally, says nothing about you.Wow, I seriously have no words. Thank you so much for understanding. Unfortunately not many people do. I've been harassed on Twitter and other boards by adults and people my parents' age for sounding selfish and ungrateful for what I've been given in life. I promise, I feel so blessed for every opportunity I have. My parents allowed me to get an education at my dream university in a field I've been talking about working in since I was 3 years old. I've dealt with health issues since I was a teenager and didn't even know if I was going to be able to go to college.
I worked so hard to get my degree. I developed anxiety and depression but it's all been worth it. College was the best experience of my life. And I thought the Disney College Program was going to be the start to my future. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic my entire life has been turned upside down. And I know I'm young and have a full life ahead of me, but when you have your childhood dreams crushed before your eyes it hurts so much.
I loathe how they handled your situation...I’m sorry for you. Thanks for the link. I was sent home off my DCP and got home 3 weeks ago. I was considering getting a job at a grocery store until Disney calls me back, but I have asthma and live with 3 other people, one of whom is older. I've worked grocery before, and it boggles my mind how people are so unempathetic to people who are incredibly essential during this crisis (and during normalcy!) They're people too, not disposable!
Keep grinding. It'll all be worth it in the end, just a bit more work than originally required. This may be a shot in the dark, and I don't know if anybody knows of any way to help, but I'd really appreciate some insight.
I was supposed to be a part of the FA DCP that arrived on June 1st. Of course that was outright cancelled this morning. In addition to that, I've lost the rest of my senior year as well as my graduation.
I feel lost right now...I really don't know what to do. A ton of us have contacted Disney programs support, and they basically told us they can't accommodate us by letting us push our dates to the fall, which I don't get since we were supposed to be there anyways. But I understand the logistics of them not knowing when they're going to reopen, how they're going to train CMs, etc. Additionally, they have not mentioned anything besides waiving when graduating seniors can apply to future programs about the re-application process. Which would mean if I wanted to apply for Spring 2021, I would have to go through the entire process again and risk getting denied, even though I've been accepted, paid my fees, and selected my housing over 2 months ago. I know it's an extremely difficult situation on the part of the company, but a huge part of me feels like we're being completely scr*wed over.
This issue is, my plan was to try and stay full time with the company after my program. I now have nothing. No school, no job, no hope. I don't know what to do. I feel like my entire life has fallen apart in the span of a few weeks. I'm scared and I don't know what my future would hold.
Any advice would be appreciated. I just don't know how to further go about this. I just wanted a future with the Walt Disney Company.
Thank you. All things considered, I think Disney's response could have been a lot worse. I'm honestly glad I got home when I did, as I've heard rumors people in the complexes were beginning to test positive and it would have spread like wildfire. Hopefully when they reopen we'll be at the top of the list to return!I loathe how they handled your situation...I’m sorry for you.
I wouldn't normally say this but...stay home. Don't work. You have asthma; you do NOT need to get this. Thanks for the link. I was sent home off my DCP and got home 3 weeks ago. I say this as a fellow asthmatic; I haven't left my house in over three weeks.
Thank you, and don't worry, I haven't left my house except to get the mail. I honestly wonder if I had it because for a few days in February I had a nasty, nasty cold. I know I had a fever and I think I had a dry cough. There's no way I'll ever know, but the thought that I might have given it to guests and my fellow cast is horrible.I wouldn't normally say this but...stay home. Don't work. See that’s just the thing...there’s a lot of people floating around with no clue until we get serious policies and progress in testing.Thank you, and don't worry, I haven't left my house except to get the mail. I had the same thought about myself because I was in WDW in February and came home sick, but there was so much gunk going around that it's unlikely that it was the coronavirus at that point.Thank you, and don't worry, I haven't left my house except to get the mail. I thought it was reckless to let you guys leave - If i’m honest. That’s as much on Florida as It is Disney. People coming from all over the place then abruptly ejected and sent back to all points...after time at Chatham, commons or Vista “W”ay under threat of disease?
...I doubt the latter’s nickname has changed
..

They're supposed to be working on a test to see if people have antibodies for covid, so it's a possibility in the future, but it's very unlikely you had it.
No. They aren’t. My husband is highly qualified in warehouses and retail... they just keep saying they have too many applicants vs jobs. Stop making it seem like it’s super easy to just go scoop up a job.And those big box grocery stores are actively looking to hire more staff.

N=1, but my local grocery store is actively seeking part time workers to fill in. They openly state the positions are temporary.No. They aren’t. That is very true. However, from Disney's perspective, if they kept us there, we wouldn't be able to pay rent. Also, if the virus got inside one of the complexes (which it has been speculated it did) it could be a huge nightmare to try and deal with because we'd all certainly get it.
Also, hah, I was at Vista. It was quiet, actually!
