Depends when the social distancing lock downs stop. If they really do it as soon as Easter WDW could be open by mid-May. If FL takes a turn for the worst though they won’t be able to open even then. Nobody is going to vacation in NYC for a while.

There isn’t anyone who thinks Easter is a realistic deadline except one person. No evidence this has even hit it’s peak yet (or anywhere close to it) so there’s no way they can make a decision like that.

I mean your real issue is... To decide they re-open, do they need to wait until all states are in the clear? Just Florida? Would they reopen only for locals if international or state travel is still restricted? Do they risk people from more hard hit states coming in with possible illness? It's really a complex decision.
Well nobody will be in the clear by Easter. It seems like the sentiment at least from the federal level is open it up anyway. If they do that then you aren’t really interested in stopping the spread anymore. Just open it up and let er rip.

If I were cast members I would be reevaluate my future/ current financial living situation and expenses, and be prepared to make difficult decisions.
Well the problem here is that we own our home. We just bought it 3 years ago. Our mortgage payment is hundreds less than ANY (much smaller) apartment in the vicinity.... I even looked an hour or more away and nothing

But I do not think Disney would reopen even if Feds gave all clear, they don't want their image associated with the inevitable "Massive Surge in Cases due to Disney Park crowds" headlines. They are probably gonna try and ride it out as long as they reasonably can.

Disney through their actions has shown they aren't going to be a leader in terms of making operating decisions based on this health emergency. If you want to know when Disney will open up, look to see what USO is going to do. Disney will follow it.

NYC is currently running out of medical supplies and the hospitals are filling up. That will be most of the country pretty soon
Not necessarily. Other states locked down and put home schooling in place before New York. Many state governors took action to protect their citizens. New York was a bit lax in those areas. Plus New York is just so crowded. I wish Florida would have locked down a bit more sooner but the two counties Disney is in are now on lock down and the streets are pretty bare. Other surrounding counties don’t have a lot of cases. The idea is to flatten the curve and I have faith it’s working.

Florida had its beaches packed just last week...Florida is going to get hit harder than NYC because of the amount of older people.

Not necessarily. The vast majority of Florida is spread out suburban sprawl. NYC has both the highest population AND population density in the US. I'm not saying it won't be bad in Florida but it may not reach the crisis NYC is experiencing.

Happy to see that a statement has been made. It’s way too late though, not sure why this could of been done earlier in the week. Anyways, wonder how this effects the new DCP’ers coming in for Fall. If that actually happens.

I have tickets to a Broadway musical in July.. I am not even entertaining a thought of Broadway not being opened back up by that time. This stupid virus has cancelled too many plans already. I cancelled a Vegas trip almost 2 weeks ago now, I might have to cancel our June Punta Cana trip, for the 2nd consecutive year (last year was over tourist deaths)...but that would be more for work reasons than social distancing related. However.. We will be in NYC. I will not allow myself to think otherwise.

I agree that Florida won’t turn in to nyc. We’ve been social distancing before New York. Our schools shut down before New York. And lots of those beach partiers went home after spring break to their states and didn’t stay here. If they caught the virus they took it home with them.

Why set yourself up for future disappointment? The Surgeon General said today, some places in the US, will be dealing with this through Labor Day.

blah blah blah. It’s the same tired whining this forum is so great at. I’m over it.
Nah, it's really been them recently. Constantly beating the drum of "everything is doomed". I want to check out Bios latest pictures? Oh there they are, repeating the same thing over and over. It's annoying.

Besides, they still haven't realized Figment wasn't anywhere near locked in despite being told.

Don't forget all the people who flew in from NY to FL when they saw the news showing Florida open for Spring Break, Trump saying the heat kills the virus, and the airlines still operating with $29 flights from NY to FL. Louisiana had Mardi Gras. FL had Spring Break. FL is next.
