No news is good news they say. (mostly)

Of course, there's been some news. Hopefully it's just a blip not worth talking about though. :)
Certainly it hasn't been big news. Even the FDA meeting yesterday didn't seem to be exciting.
Heres the only new news I’ve found lately. No one seems concerned but putting it out there for something to read.

You know what's funny?
US cases flat flat flat..like a pancake. Sitting just under 30K for the 7 day average still. If BA.2 has done anything (assumption)...it has kept cases flat at this level.
Hospitalizations still declining...

We have one member here who is the only person on earth concerned with this. Even Dr. Fauci is openly more concerned with Genie+ availability at Hollywood Studios than this recombinant strain.

Recombinant strains have happened without much ado. Given that BA.1 and .2 are coexisting in a lot of places this isn't surprising.

Mostly. There are some regions not following and have some increases but nothing like when omicron first hit. Much like European regions some seem to be following different curves. Since spring break my school district has reported 0 cases. This yucky sore throat and fever with hacking cough virus seems to be more worrisome at the moment.

No. People don't like it when I say it...but laughter is the best medicine...especially in these times.
It really is good medicine. I have made some really inappropriate jokes at times. My spouse when, we first met at teens, heard awful ones a friend and I made after a joke of his failed (mentioned my mom, not knowing she had passed away 2 years prior). He still married me. The bad jokes helped me survive it all though.

Laughter has not had sufficient testing so I am worried about the long term side affects. I will hold off from laughing for now.
It’s 10x more powerful than scream. Given current energy prices, I fear we have no other choice than to engage in laugh while it is only under an EUA. I have no issue with experimenting on my children for the greater good. I’m sure we will definitely maybe be fine perhaps.

4th doses don’t seem terribly useful and we really need a plan for updated vaccines. Thanks, FDA. Of course, folks in this very thread were already saying that. The only possible explanation: the FDA comes to this thread to inform its decisions.
Yeah, the headlines all shout about how after 4 weeks there isn't any better protection against **infection**.

BUT... they all bury the lede: The second booster is still protecting against serious disease (more so than with just one booster) even up to six weeks. And it's only been widely in use for six weeks, so, we don't know when or if the protection against hospitalization will wane.
