We are still awaiting clarification on if we are allowed to continue to stay open.

This is Purgatory.

Does your company supply an essential service needed for day to day life as people shelter in place? If yes, they should stay open. If no, they should close any personal contact and work remotely, if possible.

Companies not being able to answer that simple question is the reason why many areas have mandated closings to answer for businesses.

The flower shop across the street from my Gas Station is still open. Despite the order to close. Same goes for the body shop up the block.

In my state businesses can stay open, they just have to offer delivery, take out, etc.

My governor has said the economic impact has to be considered.... wow he has a brain!

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will announce a statewide stay-at-home order to curb the spread of the coronavirus, with an exemption for certain workers, a government official told The Associated Press on Monday.

Day 1 of still going to work and DD11 Elearning. She realized her awesome new phone is also the enemy that is waking her up at 7:30am to get dressed for the day now. :DIt suddenly only takes her 15 minutes to get dressed and hair brushed before free time until 9am vs 45 minutes
Yep...my oldest is the same way. Sets his alarm super early so he can get some computer time in before school. I allow it because now there's no nagging and he's very rarely late. The only rule is that he must be ready to walk out the door before he gets on the computer.

Flowers is a hard no. In PA auto repair is not closed. If you are a doctor, nurse or cashier at the grocery store you need a working car so I guess they gave them an exemption.
In Delaware, auto repair is considered essential (my friend and her husband own a shop). I would assume auto body would be as well.

There won't be an over crowding problem. Who knows when international air travel will return...Even if the US magically erased all the cirus cases today you would still expect international flights to be canceled until it was wiped out everywhere else or you would just be starting it all over again here.

Then factor in the number of people that will be money conscious and a crowded park isn't likely even if they dropped the prices 10%.
The overcrowding part was more tongue in cheek joke. I am hoping the parks aurvive 30% unemployment. The price being paid by yhe economy and young people is insane. I have to be careful to leave politics out of this but it's hard. We need to hope that Universal and Disney parks survive. Expansion or even keeping all the rides and attractions we had are gone.

We just got word. We will continue to operate, but with modifications.

Consider yourself extremely lucky. Every day I'm employed and able to work is a day I don't take for granted.

I do. I’ve been stressing since around 2 PM yesterday. My mind is bouncing all over the place, because on one side, The shut down would make it easier for me to be able to help my kid with this homeschooling and all of his projects and google classroom and zoom etc. On the other side, us closing would result in so many layoffs, and I don’t want to see that happen. There are many people in my company in different positions who would not be able to survive a shut down, they may not even be able to survive how it is right now, but I want them to be able to make that choice. Reduced income is better than none. We are still allowing anyone who wants to take time off to be able to do so.
