Genuine question - what is the value of a mandated curfew? Why would the government want to force people out during specified hours? I'd much rather get gas or do shopping at 1am when nobody is around.
What's been told to us is that the next 2 weeks are crucial to help contain the virus. We are a small, mostly agricultural country, where many outside of the city capital don't have easy access to fully equiped hospitals and qualified personnel. The fear is that if the virus reaches those areas, the death toll could be very high.

During curfew, medical supplies are being delivered and supermarkets/pharmacies are being restocked in a more efficient manner.

Also, as @MansionButler84 said, people won't be able to gather and "par-tay"(😄). The last thing we need here, is ambulances and hospital beds not being available for the very ill, due to irresponsible drinkers.

Another thing to note, is that we have a centralized government, no independent states. Mayors follow the three government branches' dispositions.

Lastly, sorry for the late response, I dusted off our old OT Star Wars Trivial Pursuit board game, and enjoyed playing for a while. 🤓

So, our first day of mandated curfew began a little over an hour ago. Last time this happened in my country, was in the mid 70's because of a coup and political unrest. I barely remember those days.

Eerie silence all around, looking out a window I can see the sun still shining bright, blue skies and it's a beautiful 77°. I'm already missing my daily walk today. Many djustments to our daily lives are being made down here.

Endurance will be crucial through this crisis. Hopefully, this situation doesn't last much longer so that we can all go on with our normal ways of life.
Just curious what country you live in.

Citing “overwhelming demand,” Gilead has temporarily stopped granting patients access to remdesivir. It will make exceptions for pregnant women and children under 18 years of age with confirmed Covid-19 and “severe manifestations” of the disease.

This info is incorrect/out of context. They are actually expanding access. They'e changed granting access from individuals to groups - which means they don't allow compassionate use for one person now. They also want to focus their supplies on clinical trials at hospitals. For example, the hospital that my family member is at is part of the Remdesivir Clinical Trial which is expanding greatly.

How long until Disney starts letting CM’s go? I can’t imagine they can hang out in purgatory forever.

the first ones to go are always entertainment and jobs like painters and such. Roles like F&B and Merchandise along with Resort roles are likely safe, hours will be cut though. I think Disney was just expecting a 2-3 week quarantine and not something that’ll last months. So who knows

This. A lot of consolidation too. Middle managers that are salaried that they feel less staffing can handle less CMs.

That's once the parks reopen. The issue here is if the parks are closed 2-3 months, they likely can't keep paying all of these people their full paychecks. Right now they've only agreed to do so until the end of the month. They'll need to likely begin some layoffs before the parks reopen. They also can't give people paychecks with 0 hours, because they can't file for unemployment then.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at Disney world headquarters I4 tomorrow. I bet they are identifying all the things they can cut and eliminate.

So much for epcot. Expect the remagination to take 20 more years lol. Well alot of what they promoted will be scaled back.

Animal kingdom is safe.

Magic Kingdom, Tron will finish, safe.

Hollywood studios, be glad star wars opened. As for the star wars hotel, forget it lol. If anything is like 911, expect any new hotel properties to stop.
