I honestly didn't think that we were that far ahead of the UK in vaccinations.

According to that Israel, UK and Canada are ahead of the US in terms of first dose.

Just posting because wow, what a change for Illinois! We are also now officially over 50% of adults fully vaccinated.

The statewide seven-day rolling positivity rate reported Monday was 1.6% of all tests conducted, and the average positivity rate for individuals tested in the last seven days was 2%, according to IDPH data.
As of midnight, 1,093 patients were hospitalized due to COVID. Of those patients, 294 were in ICU beds and 167 were on ventilators.

It’s not a conspiracy to know that we are still counting anyone who dies with a positive COVID test as a COVID death. Walensky herself admitted this a few weeks ago on CNN.

And every single person who is admitted to any hospital in this country is tested for COVID; regardless of reason for admission.

That combined with an unknown rate of false positives with PCR testing leads to inflated number of deaths.

By how much is anyone’s guess.

People are still dying directly from COVID in this country but that’s not all we are counting.

This is false...

So based on those numbers and the difference in efficacy, I don't feel there is enough difference in the vaccinations between the two countries to say that something there shouldn't be a concern here simply based on vaccinations.
The United States has had almost double the number of infections per 1 million people despite the UK testing at a much higher rate. Natural immunity is certainly playing a huge role in the differences here.

We’ve had people say for over a year now that things can’t get bad because of natural immunity.
I didn’t say that but at some point that does become true due to 175 million Americans receiving at least one dose of a highly efficacious vaccine on top of what is likely at least 50 million infections (with a nil reinfection rate).

The notion that the virus runs out of people to infect is true, but so far it hasn’t been. To be seen if it is now.

That the claim has repeatedly been wrong.
Not sure how you can say this. It has not been repeatedly wrong. The proof is in what we are seeing right now. The current community spread would not be where it is right now with vaccination alone. We paid dearly for that, but natural immunity is a critical component to our current drop in cases and will likely save us from a future surge.

Well side note. At WDW and our first dining experience was bad.

For anyone who has done dining here since the reopening. Is it rush rush rush?

Never once asked if we wanted drinks. Appetizers. Dessert. Was expected to order within 5 minutes of sitting down. Food came out in about 10 minutes (probably less).

If that is their pandemic dining policy. Totally fine. Would just like to know so we can cancel our other reservations. Better off just going to epcot each night and eating at each of the small kiosk ordering places. The scallops by Canada were really good

That sounds pretty typical of WDW dining for a while now, well before COVID.

Everything is made quickly. I assume they're just prepping everything and food is ready in advance of specific orders being placed. If you get an appetizer you're lucky to finish it before the entree arrives.

It's all about turnover turnover turnover.

You have to control things yourself if you want a different experience. Don't order your main meal until after your appetizer has arrived or been cleared, things like that.

If everyone gets vaccinated (zero chance).

If enough people are vaccinated to result in herd immunity (this could be a concern).

If everyone has gotten their vaccination (this process is still in progress).
Everyone has had access to the vaccines for months. At this point, you're either vaccinated, or choosing not to be vaccinated (or a child, whose natural response to COVID is as good as vaccinated).
