Sadly I think you are correct. At least a year then mopping up much like polio and other diseases have run their course. It will never be gone completely

People do care, just it feels like many accept good enough. It's good to see some places implement goals but far too many places don't. Seeing many places dropping masks now is concerning. You still are far from getting 75% which should be the goal.Just under 60% of adults in the US have received at least one dose in the US (59.1%) so I’m not sure why you have decided that most of the US doesn’t care about people getting vaccinated. The CDC sets recommendations based on what they feel is in the best interest of the country. Just because you don‘t agree with their recommendations doesn’t mean they don’t care about vaccinations. Clearly Joe Biden cares about people getting vaccinated. It’s the single biggest issue in his first year as president and the success or failure of the vaccination effort will ultimately define a big part of his first term in office. You are way off base to assume nobody cares. A very small minority of people here don’t care. Don't give them more credit then they deserve. They are completely meaningless to the vaccination effort. If we get everyone else vaccinated that small portion (20% or so) make no difference. We will have gotten through this without them.
If I get vaccinated a second time, will it help our numbers?
Like I said, if kids are playing together and masked - not placed in a static setting several feet from one another - but actually playing as in days of 'yore, are masks doing anything?Last I read, yes. When you exert yourself and breathe harder you are quicker to share the illness. That's even why our choirs have been distanced more than 6' and masked. Sports and play have caused spread anecdotally with people I knoe when unmasked.
The goal may be above 70%, but the US and CDC is not going to recommend to keep each and every restriction in place until that number is achieved. Relief can be provided in certain areas based on data. Even states that have lifted restrictions earlier like Florida and Texas are focused on vaccinations. We are going to be okay.People do care, just it feels like many accept good enough. It's good to see some places implement goals but far too many places don't. The way my kid plays/talks with his friends, I'd say yes. They're a physical bunch though. Friend caught covid from sledding sans masks if that helps. Masked did not.Like I said, if kids are playing together and masked - not placed in a static setting several feet from one another - but actually playing as in days of 'yore, are masks doing anything?
No announcement yet from Universal directly -
You can loosen some. Masks outdoors is a good one. Masks indoors and capacity limits should stay in place til the number is reached. The goal may be above 70%, but the US and CDC is not going to recommend to keep each and every restriction in place until that number is achieved. That is a fine opinion to have if you wish, but the CDC says otherwise for vaccinated people. As I said previously, we will see how states and businesses react. You can loosen some. Masks outdoors is a good one. Masks indoors and capacity limits should stay in place til the number is reached.
Puts pressure on the others for sure.Well if thats the case, so much for all the parks working on this together to have a unified approach.
