Based on the CDC study showing that the mandates led to less than a 2% increase in daily cases after 100 days and combined with increased vaccinations, likely not. Or, if there is it probably won't be related to that.

Before somebody jumps on my post, neither me nor the CDC study is talking about the effectiveness of masks/face coverings, both are referring specifically to mandates.
Mask mandates are all about setting a tone from the top. They were never heavily enforced anywhere. It’s not a great idea to set the tone that masks aren’t needed anymore. Too soon. The end is near but we can’t showboat now and fumble at the 5 yard line.

It looks like nationally cases are starting to continue the downward trend again. The 7 day moving average had a little blip back up but it has turned back downward again. I still think we are month or 2 away from seeing significant impact from vaccines but it’s good if the trend continues down.

The Pineapple Promenade kiosk at Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival has a Dole Whip topped with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum that's out of this world. We're going 8 weeks from today (not that I'm counting or anything) - I think I'll have two to make up for last May.

Cheers! I'll lift a few for your continued health in 6 weeks as our Flower and Garden outing last year was canceled as well.

2.9 MILLION DOSES ADMINISTRED. WE'RE ALMOST TO 3 MILLION!!!!!

If that pace continued through the end of April we would have 250M doses administered by the time we hit 100 days in office for Biden. 2.5 times the original goal set :)

That‘s also enough doses for 150M people to be fully vaccinated or 60% of all adults. We just need to keep going.

New to the forum

Any chances they release any exciting news at the shareholders meeting? Show returns?
It’s possible they do give an update. I would think they would mostly focus on revenue generation so something like a plan to expand capacity or open additional resorts at WDW is also possible. I’m sure they will highlight the re-opening plans of DLR since that’s a pretty big deal.

Speaking of the last sentence... did yesterday's news come as a surprise to team Disney, or have they been quietly already making plans behind the scenes?

I assume both. They have plans I’m sure and they have been working with the government so I’m sure they had some idea it might be coming. They also have about 3 weeks to ramp up again. They already ramped up once this summer when the re-opening was cancelled.

Is there a reliable link for percentage of each age group that's been fully vaccinated and population count in each? I'm seeing a bit of irregularity in mine. i.e. 65-74 age group is over 50% vaccinated, but the older two groups in FL are a good 5% behind. :(

Again with the news of vaccines being closer every day, I can see more and more a maskless 50th on October 1st. Not saying its a guarantee, but with the rate of vaccines and availability moving up, Disney should have a plan for a big event
Wouldn’t a walk down MainStreet mask less be exactly what we all need about now? We can hope!
