Can Disney even afford to keep Disneyland closed up to next summer without draining whatever is left of their employment base?

Not for a worldwide pandemic. Insurance companies never had to deal with this.

If insurance covered the losses then very few people would be losing their jobs.
1) It’s already been covered through the Fed pumping money into the system...ref 9/11 payouts
2) The insurance Covers lost profits, not wages. So those people lose jobs anyway.
