Interesting, I almost think this year's flu season won't be as bad as in past due to the measures we are taking with Covid. Less people in large crowds, most wearing masks, more people washing/sanitizing their hands. I could be way off base but if there is ever a year of fewer flu infections, this would be it.
I'm going to go with worse for some, better for some. I think the freedom types will be experiencing a normal to worse flu season. Worse because people might intentionally gather more to prove their point and not sure how an immune system challenged by COVID will handle another illness like the flu. Those that get a shot, mask and social distance will do better. More paper fodder for people doing research. What states/cities/regions did better which did worse and what were those areas COVID precautions.

"French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that people must stay indoors from 21:00 to 06:00 in Paris and eight other cities to control the rapid spread of coronavirus in the country.

The curfew will come into effect from Saturday and last for at least four weeks, Mr Macron said in a televised interview.

A state of emergency has also been declared.

A further 22,951 infections were confirmed on Wednesday.

Across Europe, governments are introducing new restrictions to battle a second wave of infections.

A partial lockdown comes into force in the Netherlands at 22:00 (20:00 GMT) and cafes and restaurants are closing."

"The night-time curfew will apply to the capital Paris and its suburbs as well as Marseille, Lyon, Lille, Aix-en-Provence, Rouen, Toulouse, Grenoble and Montpellier.

It will be applied for four weeks to begin with and Mr Macron's government will seek to extend it to six.

The measures will stop people visiting restaurants and private homes during the evening and night-time, Mr Macron explained.
Residents will need a valid reason to be outside their homes during the hours of curfew, the president said. Essential trips will be permitted.

Schools will remain open and people will still be able to travel between regions during the day.

The southern hemisphere had an exceptionally light flu season this year, probably largely for those reasons.

Catalonia has also shuttered the bars and restaurants once again.

You are absolutely correct about the increased potential paper fodder and I fully expect a virtual explosion of graphs and charts on this thread, all with conflicting data of course.

Just as long as you come out with your flu shot and a cake. I could totally go for a Publix cake during pandemic.

That's what happened in Australia, they are just coming out of their flu season.
