I feel big time for the rank and file personnel on both properties .....
Those that were ready to pay $700+ per night at Poly......well, for the most part, I don't worry about so much as chances are they will be OK.

My first concern is with those that will be under lockdown compliments of Pres.
Duturte via Philippine National Police in Metro Manila. I have countless friends and family there who will be under Martial containment.

That's fairly ignorant. People save up for these trips. People sacrifice for these trips. Just because they pay $700/night at Poly doesn't mean they're about to set sail on their yacht, away from the Coronavirus.

Well there was one not far back proving my point going “all those who are taking about spring break....no wdw for you” my god seriously there is no need! People are fed up enough as it is - there has been many instances on this thread

I don't think any Disney fan could be gleeful about the prospect of park closures. Some of us may recognise it as a necessary step, but we're in no way happy about it.

tipped employees at WDW make crazy bank, do not feel sorry for them if the do not have a rainy day fund. I know family and friends that make 60k a year working part time and full time 100k

You don't know their expenses, you don't know what emergencies have come up in their lives. If there are tipped employees making that, it's not because they're sitting around not doing anything. You don't know their lives much more than people know your life and what you're dealing with. Knock it off.

I'm not happy but I understand the circumstances. For Disney to pay their cast during the closure, is a good thing. Some may be one paycheck less to being homeless if they don't work and receive one.

I mean, ok...but you’re still spreading the virus if you have to leave the house, even for groceries.

Then what’s the plan? You keep everything closed until everyone is fine? How do you test that? I don’t know the answer, but the containment ship is sailing fast And can’t be sustained.

The question is, what do you do then? Sitting at home forever won’t fix this because basic services still have to run and people need supplies.

Agreed. They are doing the right thing and paying people. I’m sure that will extend to WDW if/when that closes. Hopefully that sets a good example for others too. I know a lot of small businesses don’t have the deep pockets the mouse has, but based on my monthly bill Comcast does so hopefully Universal follows the example.
