It’s not a matter of IF it’s a matter of when and for how long at this point. After all the events of the last couple days it would be completely irresponsible for Disney World to stay open.

Just released a statement that it is suspended. A jazz player tested positive for it.NBA is likely canceled. This is a difficult situation that is not getting better and if people are putting timelines in their minds they are forgetting how fast things develop. 2 weeks Italy was getting bad. Now they're effectively shut down. 1 month ago people were booking their spring break trips to Europe. Now everything is canceled. If people think on the 31st day they think they can score a cheap flight to Prague they're playing a high risk short game.
At the moment, yes, but it’s been theorized by another poster that Boris Johnson may enact the same restriction of travel between the UK and mainland Europe.
The parks need to shutdown immediately, they're going to be empty in the next few days anyways

Other countries will have to do the same to in order for this to work.
A person could fly to Montreal or Toronto and then to the US, for example.
And same for DLR.Get a grip people. There were between 171,000 and 575,000 deaths from H1N1 in 2009 and I don’t recall WDW closing.

I think the biggest risk of a place like WDW is people from all over come there and then go back home. If this thing breaks out in pockets of infection that’s a fast way to spread it around. Not saying local gatherings are safe either.
Get with the program John D, the WH talking points have moved on. The govt is now signaling that there is a real threat to public health because of a world-wide pandemicGet a grip people. There were between 171,000 and 575,000 deaths from H1N1 in 2009 and I don’t recall WDW closing.
Feel a bit sorry for some of those who have had very few cases! I assume they see the Schengen zone free movement as a massive risk I guess! My big issues is with Russia who has no restrictions but I can guarantee probably has as many cases as most European nations if not more due to where their borders are!

I wonder if SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, and Legoland do the same.Rumor: Hearing Universal may make some sort of announcement about this tomorrow.

Not directed at the poster you replied to but more in general:Oh, not you, too.

They were still accepting reservations at noon today. After we had to cancel a cruise, we made alternate spring break plans. Now I worry that we will need to cancel our replacement trip. There is a rumor circulating around facebook that Disney has stopped all new hotel bookings in response to the virus. Can anyone confirm this?
