We have only strayed from CBR once, ended up at Pop Century for a Quick MVMCP trip. I got a great, short notice deal on airfare so we are coming back down for MVMCP and a few days at the park. We only hit the hard ticket parties, miss school if I get a great deal. 4 round trip tix for $52.60 each was a good enough deal to get me to bite. CBR wasn't available so we are staying at Coronado Springs. Any tips or feedback on the resort as a whole and anyone have current bounce back info? We will be down Dec 2-6.

I have stayed at Coronado many times over the years. I have never had anything less than a wonderful stay. Some of my opinion may be based on nostalgia, but nevertheless...

I personally feel very relaxed and at ease being there. I have always loved the grounds, overall ambiance, and the room accommodations. Also important to mention are great meal options, unique pool, awesome large and inclusive store, and more, plus thestaff have always been friendly and accommodating.

It's not for everyone, as no resort is, but it's definitely worth being open and welcoming to. Enjoy!

I have only had one bad experience at CSR and it was an honest mix up. Besides that one instance, we have had nothing but the best of stays there. It is a hidden gem. People think everything is so far away because the convention goers get the close rooms to the lobby. That leaves a ton less people at the pool and buses.

As for our 1 bad experience, we did not know there was a marathon on that trip. We had planned to go to MK that day. After seeing about 8 buses for AK and DHS, we finally get a bust to MK. What a mistake. We finally gave up and made it to DHS just before 11AM. We were at the bus stop at 8AM for MK. Someone at CSR forgot to put up the sign stating MK and Epcot were a very long wait due to the marathon. the person at Guest Relations at DHS was very accommodating. She gave us 3 FPs each (when you had to go to the kiosks to get them). Made up for it definitely. Then, when we got back to our room at CSR that afternoon, we had a message to meet the resort manager. Great, I am thinking Mousekeeping broke something or the room was broken into. I head down to meet the manager. She was pleasant as anything. She apologized and explained the marathon signs were suppose to be up at the bus stops. She offered us a free meal and 3 FPs for the next day.

We just got back from our first stay at CSR. I really liked the resort. It was quiet, beautiful and relaxing.

I do have a question about our experience and not sure if it was because it's a more a "business" oriented resort. We stayed in Cabana 8A. When I came into the room, there was no Mickey towel on the bed and none of the four days did Mousekeeping do anything Disney fun related that make stays special, no towel animals and no arranging of my kids animals. Don't misunderstand me, I am not complaining and this did not make me have a "bad visit", I really liked the resort and the transportation but just wonder about the lack of Disney personal touches I have received at all other resort stays (8 resorts and 17 visits). Was this a fluke or is this normal because of the typical "business" ?

We would definitely consider staying here again if I don't have access to DVC points (which is what happened this time)

Mousekeeping at all resorts have cut back on Mickey heads and towel animals. It's not just a CSR issue. In the last year I have stayed at Pop, Poly, POFQ and GF and did not receive a Mickey head towel or other towel animal.

Oh well, we must have been lucky the past four resort stays in Oct '15 and June '16. Thanks for the reply.

We have stayed a couple of times and have never had a bad experience. The one thing I would recommend is taking a look at a map and put in a room request of where you want to be or upgrade to a preferred room. The resort is very large and it can be a long walk from the back side of the Rancho's to El Centro.

Who were the fights through? Those prices are amazing!! We have done Chicago to Denver round trip for about $75 but never anything that good to Orlando.

Frontier Kansas City to Orlando direct. St. Louis is our closest international airport but I always check Chicago and KC as well. Father in law worked at O'Hare for United for 40+ years so it is home for the wife. Back when Frontier was in Bloomington, IL I scored our best deal. $49 each round trip plus free parking. When we go down for two weeks in the late spring/ early summer we try to fly Southwest for the free bags, but rarely get 4 tix for under $900.

We've stayed there twice, most recently the week after Thanksgiving 2015, and had Disney touches with both trips, although there were definitely more towel animals and staging of stuffed animals on the trip with my kids than the trip with just DH and I. We stayed in the business class rooms both times. I would think it have more to do with your mousekeeper than the resort itself unless cutbacks are involved.

We were at CSR Thanksgiving 2016 & here are my thoughts on CSR (Other stays at Contemp, Pop, GF, & Offsite)

-- We picked this resort earlier last year when they were doing dining promotions because I could spend a few hundred more $$$ & get 1 table service per night as opposed to the values with only quick services. Was a great move on my part.
-- At first, I thought we'd made a big mistake. We were in Rancho 7B, waaaay far from the main hotel. However, once I settled down & figured out the bus transportation & realized I could get my cup refilled at the pool nearby, it turned out to be a great resort.
-- Buses were much better than the Values, imo. CSR has no other stops than what ever park you want to get to, which is nice. Quick trips to Epcot, HS, & AK. Yes it is farther from MK, but not a deal breaker for me. TIP: The Disney Springs bus does not go back to the main building before leaving the property. That almost got me an unwanted midnight ride to DS when all I wanted was some cup refills at the main bldg. Less than pleasant experience with the bus driver, possibly the worst experience I've ever had with a CM. He was not happy about having to take me back, although I offered to walk. I'm sure he wasn't allowed to do that. It was midnight & I was only person on the bus. Ooops....
-- Rooms were fine, but I'd be interested to see one of the renovated ones. Pretty sure our room hadn't been renovated yet
-- Loved the food choices, but I also love Mexican food.
-- Great atmosphere & one of the quietest resorts I've been to yet, except when HS & Epcot's fireworks are going off.

Overall would stay there again if the deal/budget called for it. I like trying new places when possible, but CSR is a fine choice. Hope this helps anyone considering in the future

This Feb. 10-15 will be our 3rd stay there. It's a nice resort with great CM's, and a great value compared to other moderates.

I loved it there. Beautiful resort and great services. My only complaint was the tire tracks in the beautiful grass caused by the staff cutting corners instead of staying on paths.

We always stay at Pop but this year we are looking to upgrade. I am strongly considering CSR. We have two boys (8 and 2). I am hoping it will be fun even though there is not the over the top decor. I know I will enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and the pool looks great! Anyone know if the bus wait times comparable to Pop?

If you've been happy at CBR you'll probably be just fine at CSR. Honestly if you asked me which resort is most like CBR I'd say it is CSR. Both about the same size and layout. I've stayed at both several times and would do it again. You're just basically trading the beachy theme for a south western theme.
