Coronado Springs & refillable mugs

Hi I'm new to this site and hope you can help me. We will be at CS the first week of Dec. and I'm not clear about how the mugs work at the Pepper Mill. It sounds like this is set up like some all you can eat buff. where they seat you, get your drink order then you go pick your food. The info on this web site under resorts said you used refillabe mugs "IN" the food court. Does that mean that you do not have access to just go in and refill your mug when ever you want. Can someone set me straight. Also if you have any other info on this resort it would be great esp. about the best rooms close to the mail bldg. Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi,

I can answer your questions on the CSR. it is a great resort. If you buy your hotel mug (every hotel has one) for about 12 $, you can refill soft drinks, tea and coffee for the rest of your vacation, at the Pepper Market. Of course you can just go in and have a refill, without eating. You can also have a refill and leave the Pepper Marrket and back to your room...

The restaurant itself is not an all-you-can-eat. In fact, you can "browse" the market (nice), make your choice, have it cooked in front of you and you go back to your table with it. But you pay each of your choices.

As for the rooms, choose the Casitas for proximity to the Lobby, buses, Food Court, the Marina and Fitness Center. You can also have a beautiful view on the lagoon and the Maya Temple of the Main pool acrosse the lagoon. You can also choose Cabanas for proximity to the Main pool and Food Court (although it depends where you stay exactly because it is a pretty large resort). Ranchos is very nice and calm, near the Main pool but far from everything else, and you will walk a lot.

Hope this helped.

Also, if I am not mistaken, there is a small sundries shop right in front of the Pepper Market where you can fill up your cup.

If you are eating at the Pepper Market, just ask your server to fill up the cup...they will be more than happy to help you!!

I agree about the casitas, they are much more convenient to the main building.

Thank you for the info it is very helpful. I knew how the food court worked but that mug thing had me confused. I've used the mugs many times and have always liked the value. I thought the Casitas looked the closest but you know how maps can be. We were at the CBR in July and the CSR really reminds me of that set up. Again thank you.

First I want to say welcome to the boards.

I sent you a PM about the mugs. I just may have a few for you and I will be there Dec 4-11.

When filling the mugs, you must go back into the Pepper Market. When you enter there is someone to seat you and instead of seating you they give a little card that says you are just getting a refill and you hand that to the cashier on the way out of the market.

Castitas 1 is the closest to the main building, but I liked Castitas 4 of even 3. It gets you away from the main building and it tends to be a little quieter. The walk was just right for us (about 4-5 minutes) and the bus stop was perfect. You were the first on the bus and first off, so we always had seats. I think you will enjoy the resort, and save some time to take a night stroll around the resort. It is most amazing at night, and of course you need to stop and have a Margarita while walking.

are you sure? :veryconfu I don't think so...

your right you can buy a mug there but you wont be able to fill it without going into the peppr market or go to the bar. but i think there is a large mug also for a little more money since the mug you get is pretty small. i usually finish it by the time i gegt to my room.

jkjays~Welcome to WDWMagic

I stayed at CS this past May and we were in Cabanas bldg 9B. It was a quiet area facing a small pond and was closest to bus stop #1, which is sometimes the last stop, but sometimes the first stop (I think it depends on the driver).

While the walk to the Pepper Market was further than from Casitas, the walk to the bus stop and to the main pool was closer. However, each section has a smaller "quiet" pool so it depends on what is more important to you. As we were coming and going twice a day (back to the room for a mid-day nap), closeness to the bus stop was our priority, so Cabanas 9b was our choice. It's also the first choice in the Unofficial Guide to WDW.

Whichever section you end up in, enjoy the beautiful resort!

What a warm welcome thank you all. I have been so busy first chance to spend time reading all and reply. This is great info and it will be very helpful. We have been to WDW many times but are now trying new resorts on each visit. We did like CBR so am sure CSR will be enjoyable. PhilharMagician this was exactly the info I was looking for thank you. I just couldn't figure out since you couldn't roam freely about this food court how this worked. We have requested Casitas but will see. You have all been so encouraging that I won't mind where I end up. Thanks again I believe I've found a new home to get my ? answered.
