I am currently trying to persuade my mother into going to WDW in August. I want to go to Coronado Springs. Can you guys give me some reviews on how you felt about the resort? And do any of you have anything that i could use to help persuade my mother to go?

thanks in advance,

Hi there, Coronado is a lovely resort. It is colorful and the main pool area is astounding. I do have two websites that give a lot more information & Pictures as they are fan websites dedicated to the Coronado Springs resort specifically. One even has a video walk thru over several of the areas, but all the addresses are listed on my home computer. I will definitely put them up on here tonight! Belle

Out of all the resorts on disney it is probably the most quiet and relaxing. The scenery is amazing like you they dropped desert right in the middle of florida. I have stayed there 5 times so far and i would definitely go back.

I'm glad to hear the good reports, since I'm taking my ever expanding crew there in April. I've been reading up on the resort and the positive comments are reassuring!

wannabeBelle, I'm looking forward to your web-links!

good luck the_rich!

I would not recomend this resort to anyone. I stayed at this resort in 2002 at the end of June. It was horrible. There was no air conditioner at all in my room. The resort wa booked solid, so I could not move to another room. I was also in the building that was farthest from the main desk and all the resturants. To say the least, everyday I had quite a walk to get something to drink. I tell evrybody who even mentions this resort or even planning on going to Disney to avoid this resort. :( :( :( :(

Hey MKCP!!! The links are as follows:
http://coronado_springs.tripod.com/ This one has a ton of pictures and information.
http://www.wdwmemories.com/csr/ this is a similar website but this one has the videos I spoke of earlier.
Ill tell you that this resort is second only to my beloved Riverside. Although as I put it to my friends who are going there in May, go to the Coronado is you want mexican heat, go to Riveside if you want laid back relaxing type of resort. I really think you cant go wrong at either one. I read Gingersnap's report but in the 5-6 times I have stayed there I have never encountered a problem. The resort is VERY Large and does require a bit of walking, but it is also the newest of the Moderates and a very adulty type of a resort as it is a convention center. Good luck and dont be afraid to post any other questions, Ill be glad to help!! Belle

I've stayed at all the moderate priced resorts, and it hast the most typical hotel feel. The conference center keeps it more active than most, but that depends on your timing.

The food court is an excellent resource, as is the athletic center (only one available in the price range). Last year I was at Port Orleans, and while the grounds were beautiful, as were the rooms, the food court was a mess. 45 minutes for a slice of pizza. So many people were upset that an actual mob of guest demand to meet with a manager right then and there (no exageration). The service was not only sub-par for Disney... it was sub-par for a McDonalds.

have to agree with that completely. But it sorta depends where you stay. We stayed in Casitas which is the part closest to the conference center with the largest buildings. Most of the people around us were convention goers and we saw few other vacationers. Just didn't feel as magical as PO or CB

Ranchos and Cabanas however looked much more resort like. Cabanas looks like a mexican Carribbean Beach. If you can, see if you can get in one of those areas.

Thank you Belle, for posting the links. Again, it is so reassuring to read the positive feedback!

gingersnap8269, I empathize with your bad experience and hate it for you. If you research all the hotels on and off property and dig deep enough, you can find that someone has had a bad experience similar to yours in the best and the worst of hotels.
You got a bad room, and the resort was booked full with people who were, apparently, in good rooms with working a/c, right?

I am getting excited about the Coronado Springs resort. We are booked into "preferred" rooms, whatever that means. My wonderful travel agent tells me that means I won't have as far to walk to get some chow.

The last time I stayed in a moderate, it was the Dixie Landings. They gave us some Dixie Landings memorabilia during that stay. I wonder if that will someday have any collector value?

Is it just me or have the prices for the deluxe resorts gotten completely out of hand? Have you seen the cost of a room on the boardwalk?

Anytime everyone!!! I Love to help my friends here at the most Magical Website for Disney fans!!
A quick word about the Food court, I find the selection & quality is OK here ( About the same as any of the other moderates) but I am not thrilled about the 10% gratuity that they automatically add onto your bill for the limited table service. I find that I much prefer the Maya grill for an all you can eat buffet breakfast and it was a dollar or three difference in the pricing.
The Pool area....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! This is seriously one of the nicest pool areas in all of Disney. You must get over there to at least check out the HUGE hot tub ( biggest on property!) I find this area to be one of the draws for me for this resort.
If I havent mentioned it, I am booked to stay there at the end of May, so I guess I think it is pretty great for me to stay there time and time again!!! Belle

IMO, Coronado is the best Value/Moderate resort at Disney. The pool and food court there are both very nice. I know that it is much farther from the parks than some of the other value/moderate, I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus. :D
