The name “Gran Destino” translates as “Very Detestible”. Other names Disney considered; Gran Eyesora, Gran Bland, Gran Blight.

In Spanish it translates to "Great Destination". At least I think that's what they were going for. "Destino" could also mean destiny, fate or even doom depending on context.

Disney's Great Destination. :banghead:

How is this the best name they could come up with?

A search on the Internet shows the phrase being commonly used on Spanish language tourist sights to describe just about any place that's good to visit as "un gran destino."

Have any prices been publicized? Curious if the tower will be priced the same as the other rooms.

That's why I'm not getting excited at all about these new resorts, especially given that moderates are already overpriced now going above the $200+ / night mark, which is good for a deluxe but not a moderate.

I was thinking that after I booked my room for this spring, moderate was out of my budget. Been seeing a lot of Universal hotel deals of late, and wonder if they are trying to compete on pricing Hotel wise. I knows its a bigger topic but with hotel pricing at disney going up and up, does make me wonder.
